I wept while pressing an ice pack to my swollen cheek as I looked at my family members, who were sitting around me. The air was thick with tension as I let out more fake tears.
"This is absolute nonsense!" Jayden snapped as he began to pace the room. "Vivian walked into our home and assaulted my sister in front of us! Why the hell did Caleb stop us from calling the police when we should have her arrested and dragged like a criminal?"
