Tazvin grasped the mug and stared at the hot coffee in it. He raised his head and met Adela's eyes, who was sipping from her own mug.
" Dad has been out for so long, " said Tazvin, " he's not responded to my calls, either. "
Adela put down her mug and reached for his hand.
" He'll be okay, Tazvin. " She said in an assuring tone. He nodded and looked down again.
" Where's your aunt? " asked Adela, looking around the kitchen.
" I don't know that, either. " said Tazvin.
" What do you mean? "
" She's disappeared since the incident of Ahana and Isabelle. " His eyes darted towards a picture on the wall. The two girls were standing close, arms on each others' shoulders and laughing heartily.
" I'm sorry. " She said.
