Mark's Point of View
Ineffable: a word that means an experience too great or astounding for words. Isn't that ironic? It is simply a description used to express the unexplainable. Nonetheless, it's the only term that comes close to describing the experience of becoming a father. I'm not sure what sort of parent I'll be, what kind of life I'll give him, how I'll hold the baby or feed him, and I'm not even sure how to put him to sleep, nor how I will feel about him. So far, I've been a good fun uncle to my niece and nephew, but this is a whole new level for me.
Before Katy, I had never considered love, marriage, or parenthood, and now everything is happening so quickly that I've lost count of every step I decided to take or the goals I had for my future, our future.
