Moving in

''If you need to pack some other things, I'm free to help,'' Caleb suggested when our parents left. I nodded. The next hour we spent packing. Well, honestly, it just took us half an hour. We spent the rest of our time playing video games, listening to music and eating some snacks. ''Yes! I already got out,'' I said. While I waited for Caleb to come out of the escape room, I began singing along with the song. ''Me too, by the way, you sing really well,'' he complimented. I could feel my face get slightly warm. ''Oh wow, thank you,'' I said. There weren't many times that people complimented me. ''Do you want to play another game or...'' Caleb's words were interrupted by a knock on the door. ''Can I come in?'' ''Sure,'' I said. Mr Hawkins stepped inside my room and smiled. ''Do you have everything you need?'' he asked softly. I could tell that he had a lot to say, but he just decided to stay silent. I nodded. ''Good. Then I think it's time to go,'' he said. I got up and grabbed my suitcase. Mr Hawkins took the suitcase from me and carried it while we followed him downstairs. While avoiding Mother, I went outside to the car with Caleb behind me. A guard opened the door for us and we stepped in. I put my headphones on, to let reality fade away. I've never been to Caleb's house before, but now that I see it, it's like a mansion. We went inside, and I saw how big the house was and how it was filled with luxury. Caleb guided me to my room which was next to his. ''Make yourself comfortable,'' he said. ''Thanks...'' I put my headphones on the desk. ''You're welcome, if you need anything or whatever, you know where to find me.'' I nodded again. I just looked around the room, taking it all in. At the window, some plants were placed there for decorations, the wallpaper had a light galaxy theme of colors. Stars and planets were also printed on it. For the rest, bookshelves were filled with books that I liked, which surprised me. I looked up when Caleb broke the silence. ''I noticed you like themes of the universe and I could tell which books you liked...'', he said while rubbing his neck. ''Oh wow… thanks, that means a lot'', I said. A maid then knocked on the door and we both turned to her. ''Hi, your parents wanted me to tell you guys that they were going on a date and that they won't be coming until tomorrow.'', the maid announced, and then left again. I looked over at Caleb. ''So.. what are we going to do?'', I asked. Caleb thought for sometime before responding. ''Let's order some takeout or anything and just watch movies and play games.'' I agreed and that's how the rest of the day went, just having McDonald's, playing on Caleb's PS5 and watching Wicked for Good. Until the next day came, and we were able to go back to school. What we didn't know was how all that was going to change our once relatively normal life.
