It had been a busy, yet blissful month for Lydia. She hadn't gone out with Brent or Bryan, and she was still blissfully unaware of the situation. The brothers hadn't realised it either. Brent would call and text her, and Bryan would see her at work. He'd text and call too, but she just thought Brent had two numbers. Occasionally, Brent would send dinner to her place. Bryan would buy her lunch and in turn, she would write cute love notes on sticky notes and secretly stick them on his laptop whenever he wasn't looking. Lydia had just come from a meeting with an important client and was on her way to Bryan's office after a quick detour to her own office. Bryan had gotten his PA to slip a note into Lydia's hands as everyone shuffled out of the the boardroom.
''milady, please meet me in my office. We will speak nothing about business'' Lydia wasn't sure what would happen. She had been taking the relationship at a snail's pace. She wondered if maybe she should have kissed him on the previous Friday when he'd grabbed her by the hips before she could fall backwards. She couldn't stop thinking about how his scent had been a spicy musk. She had noticed his crooked teeth for the first time but somehow she loved how they looked in his mouth. His warm breathe tickled her cheeks and made her heart flutter in every direction when he finally said:
''future Mrs Freeman, are you trying to distract me from work? because you're doing a really good job at it''
Future Mrs Freeman. She hadn't slept in a week because of those words. Not because he said them... because she had immediately bolted out of the door afterwards. And she hadn't made any contact since. She reached the door, took a deep breathe and knocked.
''It's open'' Bryan called out, his voice smooth. She wobbled through the door in nervousness. He smiled. He thought it was cute how shy she could be at times.
''I'm sorry I haven't said anything since Friday''
''I didn't ask to meet you for apologies, milady''
''oh... so you're moving straight to cutting me out of your life then?'' Lydia snapped. Bryan laughed in shock. Lydia's cheeks turned pink instantly. He took her hands and his and smiled.
''I want you to be my woman. Officially''

Stupid! Lydia thought to herself. She'd done it again. She'd bolted out the office when things were getting interesting. She arrived at Budgies, where she was meeting her best friend, Tulip.
''ahh... Let's see... forehead sweat, panting, deer eyes. He asked to be official didn't he? You poor lucky human being''
"I messed up, didn't I?"
"depends"
"on what?"
"You haven't said anything about this mystery man"
"Do you blame me? you always cyberstalk my love interests"
"I just want to make sure that you're happy"
"okay, I'll give you his initials but that's it" Lydia sighed.
"initials and details please. I need to know everything" Tulip pleaded. Lydia blushed at the thought.
"Okay, I met him at the supermarket. He saw me fight an old lady over a prime ribeye package that I grabbed first and he asked for my number and naturally, I declined." She began and then she explained the rest. Tulip seemed puzzled.
"Lyd, who'd you say this guy's name was?" She asked Lydia, who was reading a text.
"Brent K Freeman. I have to go" She said as she got up to leave.
"But Lyd! They're twins!" Tulip called out to her... But Lydia didn't hear her and ran off to go meet Brent.
She arrived at the hotel and parked her car where Brent had told her to park and Alexander, his Butler, was waiting for her there. She followed him into one of the four presidential suits.
"Mr Freeman... what is all this?" she gasped. Her heart was running a marathon. Brent walked closer to her and caressed her face with his left hand. He smelled like a fruity musk. He smiled, exposing the crooked teeth that melted her heart.
"I asked you to come here because I want you to be my woman. Officially." He whispered nervously. Lydia looked into his eyes questioningly. Hadn't he already said this? But He looked nervous, like it was his first time saying it. She couldn't understand and for the third time that day, she ran off.
Brent was more confused than he was hurt.
"Alexander, I'll be expecting my brother" he said, plopping down on one of the couches as he texted Bryan. He arrived quickly because he was already on the way there.
"Are you trying to charm me of my feet?" Bryan joked as he walked into the room. Brent looked at him with sad eyes.
"I asked her to be my woman and she ran out" Brent sulked.
"We really are identical twins!" Bryan said as he plopped down next to Brent.
"What do you mean?"
"The very same thing happened to me. I'll fire her. I'll fire your woman too"
"You can't do that"
"Fine. At least give me her name so that I can start making her life hell"
"Lydia... Mokoka. But please don't make her life hell"
"That's impossible" Bryan gasps.
"impossible?"
"That's the woman I want to marry"
"Do you... think she knows?"
"She didn't seem to know anything about us or the family"
"We have to tell her... but tell me this, did you sleep with her you womanizing jerk?"
"of course not! I respect her"
"hmmmp. Or maybe she respects herself" Brent grunted as he bumped against Bryan's chest with his own. Each of them balled their fists and they pressed against each other's chests.
"Okay, losers! Break it up!" a beautiful young woman laughed as she waltzed into the room.
"Kimberly" they acknowledged her, breaking apart in the process.
"So what's the big emergency that is making my big brothers fight?"
"Same girl" Brent says
"but she doesn't know that we're twins." Bryan continues. Kimberly laughs hysterically, with tears pouring out of her face and the deadly silent laughter.
"You guys are hilarious! How did you guys not notice? and Bryan, did you already do the dirty?" She finally said after she caught her breathe.
"why do you all keep asking that?" Bryan snapped.
"whoa... You're actually in love with her!" Kimberly gasped as her eyes widened in shock.
"What's her name?"
"Lydia"
"Mokoka?"
"yes, how do you know?"
"I'm friends with her best friend, Tulip"
"She mentioned something about Lydia possibly dating twins unknowingly. I'll worry about getting her here. You worry about who she'll dump" she stood up as she said this, then grabbed her handbag and left. Bryan and Brent turned to each other without any words but each of them felt a knot form in their stomachs.
