Shay wasn’t prone to violence. She would never considering harming anyone in her life. Never when her dad was cruel to her or ignored her. Even after the first time she’d been kidn*pped, she didn’t wish harm on her attackers. She wanted them to go to jail sure—what girl wouldn’t—but she didn’t wish death upon them. This second time around she wished Sykes and all of his men to the pits of hell.
Drew and his team had mentioned Sykes was a trafficker. Hearing it and seeing it were two different things. She hadn’t been treated the same this time around. She wasn’t put up in her own room. She’d ben tossed in a cage with dozens of other women. One of many down here in this rank basement. There was even a child who couldn’t be more than ten years old in her cell.
