Before I went home Jenna stopped me. Hey Victoria wait! She called out for me. I look back confused on who was calling me. Oh hey Jenna do you need something?I ask. Jenna handed me a paper. So do you wanna do cheer with me? Jenna asked hoping I would agree. Oh yeah of course when is it? I say eagerly. Today like right now. She said. Oh okay let’s go where is it. I pull out my phone to text my mom and dad not to pick me up. After I text them and they agreed Jenna drags me to the gym.
We had cheer tryouts for 2 hours. Okay everyone the people who got in will be sent an email tonight goodbye everyone. The cheer coach says as she dismissed us. Jenna and I grab our stuff and head outside. So did you have fun? Do you think we will get a spot? Jenna asks scared and excited at the same time. Maybe I hope I mean it was fun. I say entertaining the idea of being a cheerleader. We talk about the idea of being cheerleaders together while we walk outside. Okay Well there’s my ride gotta go bye see you tomorrow Jenna. I call out to her as I walk to my car. Bye Victoria see you tomorrow. She called back to me.
I get into my dad’s car. Hey sweetheart how was school? He asks eager for me to tell him about it. It was amazing I made a new friend her name is Jenna. She convinced me to try out for cheerleading. We don’t know who’s in yet but I will get a Email if I get in. I said sounding excited. Oh okay that’s amazing sweetheart. My dad said driving home. The rest of the car ride home was silent.
Once we arrived home my mother greeted me with a warm smile. Hey baby how was school. My mom said hoping I would tell her everything that happened today. Good made a friend and went to cheer tryouts. I said casually. Me and my mother don’t have the best relationship. Her and I talk but not as much as me and my father. That’s good baby. Did you get in? My mother asked. I don’t know yet I’ll get an email if I do. I said putting my book bag down on a chair. I sit on a chair and grab my project out of my bag.
What’s that sweetie? My father asked sitting at the other end of the table. Oh it’s my project. My English teacher already gave us a project. I groan disappointedly. My father and mother smiles and laughs. What’s it about? He asked. Before I could answer my brother walked in clearly not in a good mood. What’s wrong son? My father asked him with a slight concerned look on his face. I’m not in any of my friend’s classes plus I have 2 AP classes this year. Charlie complained. I laugh at the way he was complaining.
My brother stormed off to him room. My brother is always either mad or doesn’t show any emotion. It’s his way of being a softie but hiding as a hard boy. My mother starts to work on dinner as I work on my project. Hey mom? I ask. Yes sweetheart? My mother looked up from what she was doing. Im going to go to my room and take a nap. Can you wake me up when dinners ready? I ask yawning. Yeah sure sweetheart. She says continuing to cook.
My mother walks to my room when dinner was ready to wake me up. She knocks until I wake up. I get up and open the door. Dinners ready baby. She says calmly and softly. Okay I’m coming. I say grabbing my hoodie and slipping it over my body. I walk out and sit down at the table. My mother made spaghetti and garlic bread. My family and I eat in silence until my brother got up and grabbed the keys. Where are you going Charlie? My father asked already knowing he’s probably gonna have to shut him down. I’m going to Jason’s why? Charlie said hoping he lets him go. My father and my mother look at each other talking with their eyes. Okay you can go but be back before 12. My mother said going back to eating.
My brother nods in agreement and leaves. My mother looked at me. So what’s your new friend like Victoria? My mother asked curious. Oh well she’s nice and smart. I learned she doesn’t like pizza. Which I find weird because who doesn’t like pizza but yeah that’s it really. I say rambling a little. Oh that’s nice. My mother said happy that I’ve actually found a friend. My mother has always tried to get closer to me but there’s always been this distance. Ever since I was 12 be haven’t been close. When I got into 7th grade I hung out with a girl she didn’t like and we fought about it. That’s when we first started to distance from each other. She tried to get close with me again after that ever since.
After dinner i went to bed for the night along with everyone else. At 7am my alarm went off to get up for school. I get up and get dressed. I am wearing a black crop top with black ripped jeans and black high top converse. Victoria you’re gonna be late if you don’t come down! My mother yelled from downstairs. I garb my project and put it in my book bag that was sitting on my bed. I grab my book bag and run downstairs. I’m here don’t worry I won’t be late. I say grabbing my brown paper bag full of my lunch. I grab my water bottle and quickly fill it up with ice water.
Hey dad can you drive me to school again. I ask quickly. Yeah come on honey. He said grabbing his keys and heading out the door. I follow him to the car. He starts the car and we leave.
