Chapter Two

933 Words
"Evelyn can I come in?" Sarah asked from my bedroom door, "It's your house" I mumbled, I had just pulled out a picture of me and Brittney when she knocked on my door. She walked in and came and sat next to me on my bed. We sat in silence staring at the photo in my hand before she finally spoke. "He misses you, you know" she said quietly "he never wanted to leave you behind, but he didn't have a choice, your mum wouldn't let him bring you to live with us" she finished. I looked up at her, this woman who stole my dad and all I can do is hate her, I never asked for this life or to live with my dad but I didn't want him to leave, and what the bimbo may not know is that I begged him to stay but he turned his back on me, he turned his back when I was a mess, a crying mess. "You obviously don't know the whole story then Sarah, because he could have chosen me but he didn't he chose to leave and to marry you." I snapped "So on principle, I don't like you, you took my dad, you broke my family up and for that I'll never forgive you!" Sarah left me alone for the rest of the day and night only acknowledging me when necessary. I was thankful to be back on the road the next day for the final leg of my journey, the journey to my new life. "Sarah told me what happened yesterday" my dad said quietly casting a glance my way. I sighed and looked out the side window. "She told me what you said, I didn't know you felt that way honey" A few minutes passed between us before I turned to reply "You did know, how could you not when I was standing there crying and begging you not to go. You knew, you just chose to ignore it. I stopped caring a long time ago dad" I wiped the tears from my face and put my headphones in, cranking Eminem. Before I knew it, we were there and it was beautiful, or well brick like and dull but beautiful to me because for once it was something I had done for myself. My dad pulled up in the parking lot of my dorm, me knew home. I was so excited for my new life to start I was almost bouncing up and down on the spot. My dad grabbed my bags from the car, I had already told him not to come up, it was two suitcases so I could carry them myself, besides I wanted him to go as soon as possible. "Well this is it, are you sure you don't want me to help carry them?" he asked. "No, I have them. Thanks for the lift and all but I'm sure Sarah will want you home as soon as possible." I grabbed the bags are turned to walk into the dorm. "Bye sweetheart" I heard him call before getting in his car and leaving. I opened the door to my room and was greeted by a girl with short brown hair cut into a pixie cut and emerald eyes. She was gorgeous and the complete opposite of me with my long blond hair and ice blue eyes. I was an athletic girl which was a given considering I was a dancer. It wasn't my major but I did it on the side because it made me feel free. This girl was all legs, she could be model. "Hey sweets" she was definatly not southern, she was Californian, so it was strange she went to school at OU. "Hi" I replied with a small smile. "Evelyn, right?" she walked over and grabbed one of my bags and put it down on the other bed. "Yeah that's me" I put my other bag down and grabbed out my phone charger, before turning back around to her. "Carly" she replied with a smile that made me think she was up to something. "Nice to meet you Carly" "We are going to be such good friends Evelyn." She gave me a megawatt smile and then clapped her hands together. She came over to me and started playing with my hair. "What are you doing?" I asked stunned at how forward she was. "Well my dear Evelyn we are going to a party and you have two hours to get ready, but you cannot wear that" she laughed at the expression on my face which I'm sure screamed holy f**k who is the freak! "Um I don't think so, I'm pretty tired" on queue I yawned but I could tell from the look she gave me that she couldn't give a s**t. "You are coming and I'm going to make you look fabulous because girl you are stunning in plain clothes so imagine what you will look like dressed up!" I could tell there was no way I was going to win this argument so I gave in with an exasperated sigh and let her get to work. Two hours later we were ready to go and she finally let me look in the mirror. She had dressed me in a black leather mini skirt with a navy off the shoulder sweater top and black wedged boots. She had done heavier make up than what I would have but it made my eyes pop. I looked amazing and I suddenly felt excited. It was going to be a good night.
