I was still in shock over the way that Wyatt had behaved tonight in the kitchen. Once I slammed into that refrigerator, I hope to see a semblance of remorse in his eyes, but there was none. I decided at that point nothing I could say would change how he felt about everything he learned. I just turned and casually walked out of the house without even a word to the four men that were standing and staring. Once my feet hit the porch, and a cool breeze ran across my skin, I couldn’t imagine being within earshot of the house. So, I hurried down the stairs and sprinted toward the tree line.
