The healer looked nervous, his eyes darting between Xaphen and me as though he’d rather be anywhere else. We were in one of the palace’s smaller rooms, trapped within walls of truth that would make or wreck us.  “King Xaphen, Your Majesty,” he began, trying to keep his voice steady. “After reviewing the test results… we can confidently say that my King, Xaphen, is fully capable of fathering children.” The silence stretched for a minute, but I could feel Xaphen’s gaze.
