Chapter 4 | Raque

If only Raque has known Fierro has ulterior motives for Bernice. She shouldn’t have brought her over with her from Italy a year ago. Seeing them together is killing her. Right at that moment, she likes to dig her fangs, slit his throat at him. If she could only kill him now but it’s not the time yet. She has yet to find out where he’s hiding his empire. If it takes Bernice to get to Fierro’s lair. Raque will sacrifice her love for Bernice for the sake of SpadeChasers.

Raquel Santillan managed to land a job in La Quinta’s Entertainment Agency, she’s a talent manager. Her job is to scout the best of the best models in and out of the country. Raque became close to Erasmus del Fierro quickly as she expected.

The SpadeChasers headquarters is paintainskingly waiting for her report on where Fierro’s pack is hiding. It is a hidden organization of vampires to track the whereabouts of the last Luna. The last prophecy stated that the last Luna will be coming from the bloodline of the Quinta’s pack. She possesses a power beyond compare.

Raquel finds out that Fierro is looking for the same person as what supposedly her target—her mission to kill. She’s hitting two birds in one stone if things go as planned. But Fierro is so sneaky and unable to track.She had planted a tracker on him multiple times but the signal got lost in the middle of the woods leading her to nothingness.

Things changed when she met the woman they were looking for. Raque wanted Bernice for herself. She felt head over heels on her. Luckily, she’s also a lesbian like her. Bernice wasn’t afraid to tell Raque she’s gay and she wanted her. She wants to have an intimate romantic relationship with her.

Back in Italy nobody knows Raquel. She’s a nobody but in the Philippines everyone knows her. If the news spread out about her dating a woman of her kind it will be a big scandall and the end of her career in La Quinta.

The seductive and sweet moments she was watching a minute ago turned into a fight. She hasn’t seen Bernice turn into a beast. Did she fall in love with an enemy?

“You are going to let your hands off me right at this second Mr. Del Fierro or I will shatter everything you have on this building,” said Vernice.

“You don’t have the power to threaten me, Mrs. Del Fierro,” replied Fierro, in a deliberate voice.

A crystal vase went flying in the air cracking one of the glass windows.

“Do you still think I am threatening you?”

Fierro was shocked and in a second the entire glass window of his office was all shattered.

Raque couldn’t believe what she was seeing. It is her power to read minds and see the future. She is seeing a fight between an Alpha and a Luna of Quinta’s pack. Does Bernice have any idea she’s a Luna? Or does she not know? This is what will happen in a few seconds if she doesn’t do anything right now.

Raque gulped the hot coffee she prepared for herself a minute ago. Of all the human food she can eat or drink, caffeine is the only liquid she can stomach. Bernice and she have been together for more than a couple of years now but Bernice hasn’t noticed how different she is from others, from the humans. She’s immortal like Bernice’s father, their protector, Ephraim.

“Fierro! Let her go. My talent here is not for you to play around with. You could have told me you wanted someone you can flirt around and not someone who will model for La Quinta.”

“How dare you to meddle with my personal affairs, Santillan?” questioned Fierro, with his pierced eyes.

“Business is business, Fierro. Bernice is the face of La Quinta and not for you to toy around. She is not one of your collections. I will not let that happen! Now, let her go or I request for the legal department to cancel the contract. It will be hard for you to find another model that reflects the true essence of La Quinta Jewels.”

Fierro lightens his grip on Bernice. She almost lost her balance.

”I’ll see you around, Mrs. Del Fierro,” he said, whispering in her ears.

“I need time to think. I should not consider signing a modeling contract with your company Mr. Del Fierro. I despise your insolence,” Bernice replied, her voice shook a little, betraying her true feelings.

Bernice felt a connection with Fierro. She wanted the feeling of being in his arms. But

she is betraying her heart. Her love. The feeling of being part of him is making her uneasy. She looked at Raque who is now burning in fury. She can feel the anger that Raque has towards Fierro. The tension is strong between them.

“Bernice my dear. Forgive me. I was not expecting how Fierro acted towards you. I’ll drive you home.”

“There is no need for Raque. Dimitri is somewhere in the lobby waiting for me.’

“Dimitri? Who is Dimitri, Verna?” asked Fierro, jealousy wrapped his voice.

Bernice was close-mouthed gazing at Fierro’s pierced eyes. She unblocks him from

entering her thoughts and talks to him in silence. “It is none of your business, Mr. Del Fierro. My personal affairs are not your concern just like how you don’t like Raque meddling with yours. I must leave. I shall see you again.”

“Your personal affairs are my concern the moment you stepped in this building. I own you, Verna Quintana. You may reject me but you can’t take away the fact you belong to me. We belong to each other. Don’t you feel how I feel? Don’t deny the urges you are feeling at this moment. What you feel is what I feel. I did not spend years searching for your whereabouts only for you to reject me! I won’t let you off the hook, Verna. If I had to kill everyone that will be on the way between us I will,” said Fierro.

“Why are you like this to me, Mr. Del Fierro? Do I know you from before?”

“You will remember me in no time.”

“Tell me who you are.”

“Now is not the time. You have yet to find out who you really are. Shall I take you to where you belong?”

“I - I—.”

“Bernice, we’re leaving!”

Raque managed to read what Fierro was telling Bernice. Her speculations of him

knowing Bernice’s past is getting stronger. Her instinct that Bernice might be part of Quinta’s pack might be true. She has known Ephraim for more than a thousand years. Bernice is in no way one of their kind. She is human in many ways. Except for the fact that she can read minds and she is aware of it.
