3 Unparalleled Elegance: The Willow God

773 Words
The Willow Deity, Jack, a supreme being in his past life, hailed from a novel where his true form was a mighty willow tree. With unparalleled grace and power that transcended the ages, his strength was revered. Jack vividly remembered a passage describing him: “A tall, slender figure stepped out from within the willow tree, radiating a timeless elegance, gazing down upon all creation with pride. His divine form was astonishing, and he possessed a flawless body beyond the limitations of a mere tree. He stood alone, garbed in immaculate white like pure snow, as radiant as the moon. Wisps of white mist encircled him, with three thousand spheres of light floating nearby—each one an entire world.” Ah, to be like that, Jack thought, admiration filling his heart. He didn’t ask for much—he didn’t need to carry the weight of three thousand worlds like the legendary Willow Deity. If he could simply break free of his tree form and take on human shape, that would be enough. Lost in rare daydreams, Jack found himself getting carried away. After all, with his evolving points, the future seemed bright. Of course, the thought of becoming human was just a fantasy. While evolution points were powerful, they hadn’t yet displayed any abilities that defied the natural order to that extent. "Ahem…" With a light cough, Jack pulled himself back to reality, feeling slightly embarrassed at his own musings. Glancing around, he was relieved to see that no one was there to witness his little daydream. Then again, in this remote canyon, it would be strange if there were anyone else around. Regaining his composure, he got back to business. It was time to strengthen himself. Originally, he’d planned on conserving his evolution points in case of emergencies, but he hadn’t anticipated that he could gain so many points by taking them from other living creatures. With this discovery, Jack prioritized strengthening himself. With power, he would be better equipped to… well, survive. In a few moments, Jack poured his entire 0.3 evolution points into his branches. "Swoosh, swoosh…" With a ripple, three of his branches began to glow with a faint light. The effect wasn’t as obvious in the daytime as it was at night, but Jack could clearly feel a new energy surging within those branches. Looking closely, he noticed that the leaves on the branches he’d enhanced had become denser and greener. "Swish, swish…" The strengthened branches whipped through the air, trailing green shadows and creating three sharp sonic booms that echoed faintly throughout the canyon. "Four branches…" Looking at the four branches now responding to his thoughts, Jack was thrilled. Just one branch was intimidating enough; four could only be imagined. "Swish, swish, swish…" Enemies would be utterly defeated with such power. And considering he had fifty branches in total, if he managed to enhance all fifty… The thought struck him, sending a shiver through him. "If I ever reach that point, I might actually become some kind of tree demon." “It takes ten years to nurture a person, a hundred years to grow a tree.” Time was of little consequence to a tree. In the blink of an eye, half a month had passed. Now, deep within the canyon, there stood a willow tree that reached a height of twenty to thirty meters, tall and majestic. The canyon was filled with trees, yet any person entering this place would surely be drawn to this particular willow. Its thousands of branches swayed gracefully, sometimes hanging low, sometimes dancing through the air like playful spirits. Each branch was like a cascade of green, moving rhythmically. Suddenly, as though noticing something, the willow paused. Then— "Swish, swish, swish…" Thousands of branches extended, all pointing toward a single spot in the air. Boom! A powerful sound erupted, shockwaves rippling outward. Yet, despite this fearsome display, the branches halted half a meter from a massive stone, unable to reach it. “So close, yet so far,” Jack thought, slightly frustrated. Even though he had grown wild and unchecked in the past two weeks, reaching a height of over twenty meters with branches extending ten meters or more, the stone was simply too far. But even if the branches couldn’t quite reach, the sheer force of Jack’s combined strike, the result of all his enhanced branches moving in unison, created a gust of air powerful enough to shatter the stone into fragments from half a meter away. Crack, crack, crack… One by one, the sound of splintering echoed as the two- or three-meter-tall boulder crumbled into small pieces.
