Damon’s POV I didn’t believe her, not completely. Maybe parts of what she said were true. Maybe she really was tired of being locked away, tired of staring at the same walls every single day while the rest of the kingdom continued moving without her. That much I could understand. Even before everything fell apart between us, Elodie had never been the type to quietly accept confinement. She always pushed back. Questioned things. Challenged whatever tried to control her.
