No one spoke for a very long time. Interesting. Very interesting. Because Theo's message wasn't a threat. That was the problem. if he had threatened me, Nathan would have dismissed it. If he had demanded something, Selene would have analyzed it. If he had declared war, everyone would know what to do. Instead, he offered answers. And somehow that was far more dangerous. The letter remained on the table between us.
Silent.
Patient.
Waiting.
Just like Theo.
The realization sent a chill through me.
Because suddenly I understood something important.
Theo wasn't trying to force me.
He was trying to tempt me.
And the worst part?
It was working.
I hated that.
Absolutely hated it.
