Do it!

1029 Words
Harper's POV I am fighting Raven. She wants to destroy the king and Hunter. It is not Hunter's fault. He is not the one who does not want a mate. Why did that Rogue King, or whoever he is, have to mention Rebecca? Why does he want the king to choose between her and me? Was she the one who hurt him? Was she his first mate? "Raven, please calm down," I beg. "No! How dare he?" she shouts. I know she is hurting. "Mason is still here. He did not run after whoever Rebecca is. If he loved her, don't you think he would have gone to save her from the Rogue King?" I ask. "He has to accept us as his mate. He has to choose now! He has to accept or reject us. I want to know where we stand," she shouts. The seal is almost broken. I can feel it giving way beneath the combined power of Raven and me. I want the seal broken. I want to be united with her. But she will destroy everyone if she breaks free now. She is furious at the mere mention of Rebecca's name. "Do it! I cannot hold her back. You know what to do, Mason! You have to choose to reject us or to accept us," I shout with the last of my strength. "I, Mason Whitlock, King of the North, take you, Harper Cole, as my mate and Queen of the North! Do you accept?" Mason shouts. Raven immediately calms down. I know that is exactly what she wanted to hear. She fights even harder to break the seal. "DO IT!" she shouts at me. "I, Harper Cole, accept you, Mason Whitlock, King of the North, as my mate and my King," I say. A burning warmth spreads through me as the hatred inside Raven disappears, replaced by peace. Then a bolt of lightning descends from the heavens. It burns through my entire body. I feel it as the seal breaks. For the first time, I become one with Raven. The darkness and all the pain we carried shatter around us as brilliant light overwhelms it. I feel the darkness retreat before our light. I can almost see it fleeing as it breaks apart and crashes to the ground. I feel Raven's power flowing through my veins. She is finally with me. I have my wolf. She is unimaginably powerful, and I can feel her strength threatening to overwhelm me, yet her love and gentle touch soothe my soul. She wraps herself around me like a mother protecting her child. We need to go outside and fight the rogues, but I do not think they will dare enter. We have a few precious moments. I am exhausted, not only from breaking the seal but also from fighting Raven. "I am sorry, little one. I am sorry you had to fight me and stop me from killing our mate. You see, I had to do it. If he had chosen Rebecca, it would have been the end of the Kingdom of the North. I know she still has a hold on him, and our bond with Michael Carter is not completely broken because our bond with Mason has not been fully sealed yet. Michael has a chosen mate. Their bond was never meant to be. At least we saved the Kingdom of the North for now," Raven says softly. "Will we seal our bond with him forever? What if he rejects us again? We forced him to accept us as his mate. I do not believe he will be very happy with us," I say. "We had no choice. Rebecca may look innocent and weak, but she is not. She tried to kill us, and she would have succeeded if you had not run to the light when it started to fade. You are a true hero. You saved us. But that b***h dared to try to kill a Moonborn wolf! She will die. She will spend the rest of her miserable life running from us. She blames her father, but she was the one who almost killed the king and almost destroyed the Kingdom of the North. She is wicked. Evil to the bone. She hides it behind an innocent face. Mason may fall for it again, but we will protect Hunter and him. For now, we must keep it a secret that we broke the seal. Pretend it never happened. No one can know, not until we have destroyed our enemies. We were never supposed to break the seal this soon. I will recreate the illusion of the seal. The dark one who was fighting us and trying to strengthen it will believe they have won, even though they were nearly killed. They are injured, but they are not dead yet. I want to face them. I want to fight them myself. The Rogue King outside is nothing more than a pawn in the hands of the one controlling him. Our true enemy is a powerful man. Now, pretend to faint. Pretend you used every bit of your strength. I will stay with you, but not even Mason or Hunter can know the seal is broken. The only one we cannot deceive is Talitah, but I will speak to her wolf. She must keep our secret," Raven says. "I understand. You do not want Hunter and Mason to know because you want Mason to accept us when we are at our weakest before he ever sees us at our strongest," I say. "That is right. I will pretend to retreat behind the seal, and I will hide myself from Hunter. He is happy. He already wants us. My concern is Mason. He must love us. He must trust us," Raven says. "What if he does not accept us? What if he rejects us?" I ask. "He is the king. He carries royal blood. Only a royal is strong enough to mate with a Moonborn wolf. If he rejects us, we will take his kingdom, and we will save the world from the darkness alone. We will unite all the wolves ourselves," Raven says.
