"Are you mocking me, Lauren?" Finn's voice reverberated through the room, thick with anger. Lauren felt a surge of fear as the intensity of his emotions seemed to shake the very foundation of their surroundings. Trembling, she clutched the box containing the precious engagement ring, fully aware of her mistake by even considering selling it to him.
