Chapter Two

Star Café – Saturday

Today marks the opening of Keid’s café. After Jawbreakers chose to focus on their individual careers Keid decided to build his own café. It was his dream before becoming an idol. He invited the all Jawbreakers’ members and is now waiting for them to arrive to start the opening ceremony.

“Congratulations Keid,” they all congratulated him. “Thank you guys for coming despite your busy schedules,” Keid thanked them. “You know Keid, we can’t miss this milestone of your life,” Josh joked.

Jawbreakers disbanded after their 5th anniversary. Aidan continued his career as a solo singer, Yvan as an actor, Josh pursued photography, Rowan inherited their family business, and lastly Rowan who is now a café owner. Due to the conflicting schedules each of them rarely sees each other but still in contact. That’s why they all made time to attend the opening of Keid’s café.

As they talk about their idol days, Aidan suddenly asked, “Aren’t you guys curious what happened to them?”

The group turned silent remembering what happened. Then Yvan broke the silence, “I am. They were there with us since we started so they are both special to me. But yeah, after that dating scandal they both disappeared.” “It saddens me thinking about it,” he continued. “I know those two were special to all of us,” Rowan stated.

“What’s with the atmosphere guy?! Today’s a special day for Keid, let’s not talk about sad memories!” Josh told everyone. “Yeah, today’s my day, so let’s not be too sentimental. Okay?” said Keid. “You can choose anything you want on the menu, it’s on me today,” he added. “Oohhh! Let’s make him poor this day!” they cheered.

One week after the opening.

“Good morning Sir Keid,” Jinjin his barista greeted him. “Good morning too. Are you also serving orders now?” he asked her. “Yes, since there’s not a lot of customers right now, but later when it’s packed I’ll leave them the serving and do orders,” she explained. Keid nodded at her and went straight to his office.

While Keid is busy checking last week’s report he heard a knock on the door. “Come in,” he said without looking. He heard footsteps towards him, still unbothered on what he is doing he heard the person talk. “How is it going buddy!” it was Rowan. Keid looked up and saw Rowan standing there. “Hey bud. But what are you doing here? It’s still midweek, you’re supposed to be working your ass at your company,” he told Rowan. “I just came from the company dude! It’s already time to clock off, don’t you realize?” he scoffed at him.

Keid checked the time and it shocked that him that it was already 6:00 pm. “Startled aren’t we,” Rowan shrugged. “Let’s step out of your office and have something to eat here,” he added.

The two went out and asked the kitchen staff to bring them something to eat. While waiting for the food, they talked about a lot of things. Keid and Rowan were close to each other among the members since they are both in the same age. All of a sudden they turned silent while gazing outside.

“Are my eyes playing with me?” “Did I just saw her or it is only another person?” “What am I even thinking, it’s been years since last I saw her,” they thought to themselves.

Still stunned at what they saw, no one’s still able to talk until the person they saw already disappeared. Both of them were cut-off with their thoughts when Jinjin brought them their food. “Here’s your food Sir Keid and Sir Rowan,” she told them. They thanked her still startled and had their meal in silent, no one opening up about what they saw.
