SPECIAL INVESTIGATOR NUMBER ONE
That is how Steeley Delaroy became Special Investigator Number One at Scotland Yard, with me as his assistant; and I must confess that even on the following morning as we motored down to Brooklands where I kept my machine, I was still in a bit of a daze with the suddenness of the business.
