Somewhere in the middle of nowhere, Fiona Evermore (Carina's mother) " That stubborn good for nothing brat, what does she think am trying to do here?       I mumbled to myself incoherently, why must she always be so stubborn. Just like her father, she doesn't listen. Seriously banishing me in the middle of nowhere was horrible on her part. I sighed and closed my eyes to summon the blood quill, within seconds it was in my right palm.        The blood quill is living quill that draws blood from its user and uses it as ink. It was one of the Ten forbidden magical artifacts, and I just so happened to have borrowed one from my previous coven, before I killed them all for betraying me of course.       I needed to draw the rune symbols to get me back home, but I was no runemaster. However, the blood quill could mimic anyone's handwriting living or dead and magically enchant things you write to make it look more authentic. My mother was the last runemaster, and I needed her guidance to draw the runes.       Runemasters harnessed the magic of the very universe. With a flat surface to write the enchantments and a writing tool, They can pretty much conjure or create just about anything.  The quil merged itself into my palm, slowly draining my blood. After I finished drawing the runes I  placed the crystals in the magic circle, and waited for the crystals to charge up.      The crystals made the process of teleporting easier and it took about a 2 minutes or so to finish charging.  I got up feeling dizzy, the quill extracts a huge amount of blood depending on what it's being used for, i guess drawing runes meant loosing a huge amount of blood.  I stepped back to observe the magic circle, over my shoulder my mother was still nagging me.       " Oh, quite now child. I didn't answer your summoning to hear you badmouthing my granddaughter. who do you think is at fault here? why  do you think she distrusts you? After everything you put that child through with your vain obsession's  views on beauty's No wonder she has no love for you. Now be dear and draw those runes carefully, you don't want to end up lost in the middle of nowhere."   " I put her on diet for her own good, she was too fat for her age! I was just trying to help her!" my mother just clicked her tongue at me disapprovingly, and shook her head sideways.  She put her hands on her hips and continued to nag me.        " That girl is beautiful in her own way.  You leave her alone, you hear me, Fiona!  She was a child for the love of goddess Hecate, and you almost starved her to death."          As always I  was the Horrible Wicked Witch of the West in everyone eyes.  All I wanted, was for her to lose some few pounds, feel beautiful, but oh no! I was the horrible mother, The one who was obsessed with looks, The one who starved her daughter. Everyone was obsessed with looks, but no one ever admitted and said it out loud.        I growled under my breath and rolled my eyes again. Summoning my dead mother to help me get back in the house, and stop my daughter from killing her human boyfriend. May have sounded like a great idea at first, but now I was beginning to see the fault in it.       " You know damn well if you hadn't killed those witches out pettiness. you wouldn't have been sent to the purgatory, and my beautiful innocent granddaughter wouldn't be in this mess you created.  Now, because of your  pettiness, my sweet baby girl will have to dirty her hands with blood and be mated to that monster for all eternity"       I made an annoyed noise in the back of my mouth. Leave it to my mother, to make me feel like a teenager, even at the age of 45. If I hadn't killed those witches, they would have burned me to the stake, out of envy and jealousy,  She knew that, Yet it never stopped her from playing the "what if '' game.     " You know exactly why had to kill them, Mother! and yes I  realize now, that making that deal meant having severe consequences to deal with In the future, but what choice did I have? "  I asked in a small voice, heavily aware of the consequences at play here.         I looked at my mother and noticed her physical form was turning into a white mist. Meaning that her time in the living world was almost done.  I looked away from my mother's accusing glare and glanced at the crystals, the crystals were glowing brightly, meaning they were almost completely charged. Over my shoulder I  could still hear my mother nagging me about the deal, I  made with the demon king 25 years ago.       " She needs to know, that her mother willingly sold her, in exchange for her freedom      I flinched when she said it.  it was true, but it never hurt less hearing. about it.  I bit my tongue so hard I tasted the metallic taste of blood, I  turned around angrily and shouted       "I DID WHAT I HAD TO DO TO PROTECT MY DAUGHTER, I DON'T CARE HOW SHE FEELS ABOUT IT. I AM HER MOTHER! NOT HER FRIEND"       My mother just snickered and rolled her eyes at me. Sure I wasn't the best mother in Carina's eyes, but everything I did was for her sake. Everything! in some twisted way, I  loved her in my own way. I guess you could call it tough love?     " well, we'll see how she feels about having to drink blood for the rest of her life. Get in the circle child and let's get this over with. I don't have much time to linger around. I stepped Into the circle Just as my mother started casting the spell. within seconds the spell was having an effect. Suddenly I  was engulfed in blue light, and In the blink of an eye I was in the living room of the house grew up in. I  started to immediately look  around and noticed Carina was nowhere in sight.      The only light in the house was coming from the dining table, I hurried over and saw that she had indeed had what resembled a romantic date night. I heard what sounded like moans and groans coming from upstairs, I  immediately ran upstairs and went straight into Carina's room.        I gasped at the scene before me, she lay on top of him, feeding off his blood.  I walked in cautiously as she turned around swiftly, and just stared at me. No trace of recognition whatsoever. Her eyes were glowing intensely green with her earth magic, but that was not what had my attention. It was the two long vicious sharp fangs prodding from her lips. The blood stains on her mouth, and the poor unmoving pale boy, that lay beneath her. I lifted my hand and yelled     "Shimva"      she fell on the bed, as the spell took it's effect right away. I got her off the boy and checked to see his pulse. thank god he was still alive, he will need a blood transfusion right away. I took Carina into the bathroom quickly cleaned her up and brought her into to my old room.      Hopefully, she won't be so upset with me once I  tell her everything when she wakes up. but first I had to take care of the boy and erase his memories of Carina entirely, oh boy this is going to take a while. But first, i had to report this to him, before he sends someone over to kill the boy       I summoned my Lacrima a magical connection device. I searched the device and clicked on his crest. within seconds I was connected through the crystal. when he saw my face he frowned and pushed the girl he was feeding from.  with a wave of his hand, they all ran out of the throne room scattering around like a flock of scared birds. he laid back on his throne and gestured for me to speak.     "  Lady Fiona! I must say, I was beginning to get a little anxious about your visit back home.  I almost sent my scouts over to make sure the boy did not taint my beloved.  Now then, tell me, Lady Fiona, what news do you bring me?"
