"I told you to come at 8 in the morning and it's 10 now. You're not my only patient, Ms. Kimimoto. I hope that's clear with you." Dr. Steven typed in a text message and send it to Aurora.
It's past 10 in the morning, Dr. Steven is busy arranging his schedule for the next two weeks prior to his trip to Singapore. Doctors from different parts of the world will gather for the Heart and Brain Annual Conference, and he is the head Cardiologist from the Philippines who will take the lead on the call.
"I know. And that is also the reason why I chose you, coz' I know how good and reliable you are..." Aurora replied, making Dr. Steven smirk while staring on his phone.
"Did you just flirt with me?" Dr. Steven asked.
"The sun is too bright outside. You should try getting enough sunlight, Dr. Steven Lim. That will also help you get away from daydreaming.." Aurora teased while walking inside the hospital lobby.
"and I am on my way up. Don't you dare hide from me or else I will stop giving you coffee."
It's been two years since Dr. Steven and Aurora met.
"One joe for me, please. The medium one."
"Would you like some milk or sugar to go with it?"
"Nah, I'm fine with it plain. Thanks for asking, Aurora."
"And your name, for the cup?" Aurora asked the customer over the counter.
"Steven. I'm Steven."
"Alright then. That would be one hundred and sixty pesos, Steven. Would you like anything else to add?" Aurora asked.
"None, that's all." Steven replied.
Aurora handed the receipt and asked Steven to claim his drink at the hand-off area.
Steven was enjoying his brewed coffee in Starblack, one of the coffee shop outside St. Mary's Hospital where he is a resident. Plugged laptop, one croissant, a hot black coffee and a peaceful surroundings were all Steven's dream of spending time alone. While he's checking his presentation, he saw Aurora on break, waiting for her drink at the hand-off area.
Aurora is standing with her right foot pointed into the floor, allowing her left foot carry her body weight. She's slightly leaning at the counter-top, making her look like an irritated customer who's waiting for hours.
'She's off-balance. Her left shoulder looks stiff up to her neck. Something's weird.' Steven said to himself while staring at Aurora.
Aurora finally got her drink. As she was walking past to Steven's table, her co-worker barista called her attention while swaying one packet of Splenda in the air. Aurora strike a deadly angry stare at her co-barista and shook her head.
'and a Splenda?' Steven felt even more worried.
'Aurora, this is my calling card, with my email address. Please visit me anytime soon as I need to tell you something very very important.-Steven', leaving a note on his table before he left the coffee shop.
"He's from St. Mary's, right?" the other barista said.
"Looks like one of our friends will get laid soon.." Jessy added.
"You can go if you want." Aurora blocked, making others laugh hard.
"Hi. I'm here for Dr. Steven Lim. Please tell him his guardian angel Aurora is here." Aurora said to one of the front office staff at St. Mary's Hospital.
"Ms. Aurora, Dr. Steven is waiting for you at the seventh floor, Annex two nurse station.."
"and he said you owe him three cups." the staff said with confusion their face.
"Isn't he such a crybaby?" Aurora asked before leaving the lobby.
