Unexpected Feelings

Chapter 3: Going abroad

It's been a week since Javier became Katrina's bodyguard... Or should I say her enemy. Ever since they met, peace never existed between them. All they do is to fight with one another and provoke each other. Today, the Katrina's father called them both at his office. Javier heart rose with a little joy. He was hoping he was going to get fired, since yesterday Katrina told him that she was going to get him fired for ruining up her her face by putting hot chilli inside her face lotion.

Javier couldn't help but laugh after seeing her reaction, making Katrina break down in tears around the house. She was running crazily like a mad person. Unfortunately, her father was attending some event, so he came back late while Katrina had already fallen asleep. Katrina hates him even more and wanted to get him back, so she decided to tell her father once she was done with her revenge.

She was curious of finding out why her father called them both. Javier tried suppress his laughter but he couldn't help it when he was her and recalls how badly hilarious she was screaming. When Katrina saw this, she felt pain and anger in her heart. She was just hoping that her plan can hurt him really bad for doing this to her. Seeing Javier had no intension of stopping his laughter, she rolls her eyes and opened the door on her father's office by herself and shut it after she was inside.

When Javier saw that Katrina was already inside. He immediately stopped laughing and he wore a serious expression on his face like he has never smiled. Honestly, he was only laughing just to piss her off. And for what he did to her yesterday, he didn't feel proud of it but he had to do it in order for him to get fired. He was really irritated by Katrina with how he speaks, treat and how she selfishly is inconsiderate to other people's feelings. She was just a spoilt brat whom Javier hates the most. All she knows is to hurt others, complain and spend her father's money. This made Javier easily get irritated by her when she gives him bags to carry while shopping at the mall.

He cleared his throat and enters the office. When Katrina saw him, she turned to the other side with a sour expression on her face. Javier was invited to sit down. He didn't even spare a glance at her, he had nothing to do with her after how she made his first week of being her bodyguard a living hell. Katrina's father looked at both of them before greeting with a smile.

" How are you, my angel? " he looked sweetly at Katrina who was smiling unfriendly to Javier.

" I'm fine, Dad. "

" How is everything going to your side, Javier? " he looked at Javier.

Javier forced a smile and responded with respect. " It is going just great, Mr president. " he bowed.

" Good." Katrina's father was satisfied with their answers and continued." I hope everything has been going great between you too?"

" Yeah... juuust great." he said in between his teeth.

Katrina looked at Javier and smiled slightly. " Everything is alright dad. So why did you can call us here? "

Javier got curious and looked at the president seriously.

" Right... I called you two here to let you know that you two are going abroad." his words came crushing Javier's soul when he heard the words " you two " he almost lost control of himself but then Katrina held back his right hand before he could get up.

Katrina might have been looking calm, but deep down there was different unexplained emotions. She had never imagined going together abroad with her enemy and she was not ready for it.

Javier held himself back when he sees Katrina's glare. He disgustedly looked at Katrina's hand on his own, but he didn't have a heart to push it away. He looked back at the president and asked. " I don't mean to be rude, but why do must we go abroad together? "

The president didn't seem to have changed his expression before he had break the news to them. He simply said " I don't want to explain much, but it's for my daughter's safety."

Katrina didn't care to ask about other things he like where was she going to as he had told her before that she was in danger and she might need to leave the country for a while. Instead, she asked. " When? "

" Tonight at 7 pm." his tone showed his seriousness inside him. " so make sure to pack everything you need."

" Javier, please leave us alone. I want to talk to my father." Her tone was cold making Javier look at her to see if it was really her that was talking.

He sighed and walked out leaving the father and daughter inside. He walked out to the garden to catch some fresh air and clear his fizzling mind. He knew that he was not going to let that happen, but he still didn't want to let him down by saying no to him. The president had done so much for him when he was younger and in need of help with his mother. He was in between of making a decision that will have a huge effect on his future. He walks around thinking of what choice he should make.

Meanwhile, Katrina was throwing a tantrum in the office. She couldn't understand why her father was insisting her on going with Javier, someone who she just met. She tried everything to convince her father on picking someone else, but it was not working. She even tried to threaten him by saying she might take her own life if he keep on forcing her to go abroad with Javier. Her father ended up getting angry by how she was acting and ended up telling her to leave the office. Katrina rushed out crying and wanted to be alone.

Uncle Leo saw Katrina rushing out of the office crying and he guessed what happened in the office. He enters after he knocked. He finds the president sitting at his chair massaging his forehead. He suddenly hear him say.

" Do you think what I mismatched them? " he said sighing sadly.

" Let's give them time..." he walks towards him and continues." They will find their true feelings later on. For now, let's just wait and see." Uncle Leo said calmly and not surprised by what has been happening.

Katrina was turning 28 years old this year and still hasn't gotten into a relationship after she had broken up with her ex boyfriend 10 years ago, that left her heart broken. She swore to her father that she was never going to fall in love again after what had happened to her with her last ex boyfriend. Even when her father introduced a lot of good guys who seemed to perfect for her, she rejected them all afraid of getting heartbroken again. Her father tried to convince her many times but she kept saying that she wasn't ready. Since her father was getting old and was afraid that he might die without seeing his grandchildren. So he thought of secretly matching her with someone who he really trusts and that will care for her. That's where the whole idea of Javier being her bodyguard came from.

When Katrina rushed out, she went outside to the garden where she goes most of the times when she gets upset. She sat on a rock sniffing. When Javier was walking past the small stream, he saw Katrina trying to wipe her tears dry that couldn't stop running down her cheeks. He stood there for a while without her noticing him standing behind her. He slightly felt sorry for her and wondered what her father and her had talked about. He was about to go away when a servant calls him making Katrina turn her head. She immediately felt flames on her heart after thinking that Javier was spying on her to make fun of her. She immediately got up and rushed to Javier who had just finished talking to the servant. She stopped in front of him and put her hand up to smack him, Javier who had just turned to Katrina quickly reacted and stop her hand mid air by holding it tightly that led her to scream in pain.

He looked at her coldly and mercilessly tightening his grip. Katrina realized that she had made a huge mistake by trying to smack him, all she could do is cry in pain. Javier only let her go two minutes later leaving a bruise on her wrist, believing that he has taught her one of the lessons she needs to learn.

" Let me go you bastard! I will make sure I make your life a living hell!! " Katrina yelled moving backwards away from him. Unexpectedly, she tripped and fall into the pool of mud that covered her from the waist down to her legs. Since she was wearing a pleated skirt, her panties also got dirty. Javier got anxious and was about to rush to her and help her get up, when he suddenly remembers the slap she received from her and ended up saying. " I guess karma is finding it's way to you." he chuckles softly and said before walking away. " It suits you better."

Katrina couldn't believe Javier would mock her and leave her like that. She cursed him out loud before helping herself up.

Despite of how much he hates her, he couldn't help it but to turn back and help her. When he got to where he left her, he found her gone and regretted leaving without helping her. He sighed and went back inside the house.
