Experiment Anyone?

  Time passed and I started giving up hope. It only took a few days to understand what was happening. I also understood that the only thing I was going to get here was pain. I started to believe that I was never going to get out of here and see my family but seeing them again was the only thing that helped me hold on. This place was not for breaking creatures it was for making creatures. The men in the white coats were not quiet in what they were going to do to me, I soon learned that what they were going to do to me could easily kill me. But I didn’t believe that until they came into the room one day.

  One of the men grabbed my arm and uncapped a needle. He easily found the vein in my arm and injected the thick dark fluid into my veins. Instantly a burning pain ran through my body bowing my back against the straps that held me down. I screamed and thrashed my head as my body burned from the inside out. I could feel my wolf trying to take the pain away from me but she was cut off still. They must have been giving me something to keep her caged up inside me.

  It seemed like forever that I was on fire. Sweat drenched my body and my throat was dry from the screaming. Soon after the pain faded the men came back in. One gripped my face forcing my mouth to open before shoving a syringe into my mouth and making me eat the past it was filled with. They left me again covered in the nasty tasting past and the silence in the room.

  I lost count of how many times this was repeated. I could smell blood from the bloody bed sore on my body and wounds made from them cutting into my skin. And soon the monitor that was recording my heart beats started to slow to where my heart was beating a slow beat. I didn’t know what they were giving me but all I know was that the more things that they injected into my body the more that something grew inside of me.

What ever was growing inside of me was dark and quiet, coiled inside of me like a snake. And with it grew a hunger. The smell of the men who came into inject me with poison made my mouth water and stomach rumble. I wanted to feed on them.

After ages I knew I had grown, either with age or with the help of whatever the men were giving me. My feet hung off the end of the table and the straps holding me down were getting tight around my limbs. The men also notice my growth and I heard talk of them moving me to a new room. I got excited that this was going to be my chance to escape.  

However, when the day to move me came they also came with drugs. After injecting me with the drug my body felt drained and as they released me from the bed it took all my strength to stand. They tied my wrists together and put a collar around my neck with a leash. They pulled me along and out of the room for the first time since I have been here.

  I was hoping to see the sun and smell fresh air, but it smelled worse out of the room than it did inside. Outside my little room it smelled of death and feces. I could hear screams coming from rooms we passed, and the smell of pain made me want to gag. Though the hole way I could also smell that the men were nervous and it took me a second to realize that I was the reason that I was making them nervous. I didn’t realize that the whole time that we have been walking a deep rumble had be escaping my throat.

  The men started walking faster dragging me along when we entered a room that looked like the inside of a prison with large cells. Inside the cells I saw others like me but they looked crazed. The ones that had a beast form was in it. I saw wolves and tigers with saliva dripping from their fangs and ribs showing under their matted fur.

  The men stopped me in front of a cell and pressed a finger on a pad next to the door. After a second the door swung open, and they lead me inside. One of the men pulled out another syringe while the other untied me. The man with the syringe grabbed my arm and injected me with more drugs while the other hurried out of the cell. A second later I gelt my wolf rising to the surface and with it that thing coiled up inside me rose with her. Hunger and madness bubbled up inside me and with a savage growl my wolf broke free.

Then there was pacing. Back and forth in my little cell. Hunger was driving me mad and when ever something walked in front of my cell, I would charge the bars trying to break free and sink my fangs into something. I started losing all sane thoughts and almost fell into madness. The only thing that was saving me from completely going mad was my wolf and her will to survive.

  Soon I learned that there was a routine these men follow. Occasionally, they would come to my cell and shoot me through the bars, and I would run out of energy. They would come in and work on me then leave me in howling pain. Soon though I noticed that the drug making me weak was affecting me less and less every time. Soon it had almost no effect on me and that is when I made my plan.

The men shot me through the bars, and I acted like I always did. They opened the cell and entered, and I laid still. I waited tell they were poking me with the needle to strike. I lunged forward grabbing one of the men by the throat and rolling onto my feet. The other man was trying to get out of the cell, and I pounced dropping the one man from my jaws. Blood washed over my tongue and hunger rose in me like a storm. My wolf snarled inside me and pushed the hunger back.

“We need to escape.” She growled at me. The first time she had talked to me since I’ve been here. I shook my body and squeezed through the cell door. I paced through the building breaking down doors and killing anyone that I ran across until I made it outside.

  If I was in my human form I would cry instead I howled at the sky. All around me was trees so I shook myself an ran into the trees. I ran until I the effects of the adrenaline in my system wore out and my body ached. Then I ran further until I heard the familiar sound of wolves. They quickly found me, and I stopped. They surrounded me with growls in their throats, and I collapsed onto the ground and felt my body shift before everything went black.
