"You must ask for forgiveness for being late, your majesty; the King has been looking for you since his arrival," the maid said in a confrontational but frightened tone that reverberated down the hallway. The princess just gave a simple nod in response.
As soon as they entered King Nelson's chamber, Nayeli made a respectful bow to his father. After finally meeting his child, the elder man seemed amused. After being absent for a month, he was relieved to meet Nayeli, who helped his worn-out physique appear to calm down.
Nayeli was still on her knees when she added, "It's nice to see you again, Papa. I apologize for the late appearance. It's just that I met someone in the garden." She was then instructed to look at the King. The princess was reassured by King Nelson that there was absolutely nothing to worry about if she was late. Then, when Aurellio was paying respect to her, Nayeli was confronted by him.
The King remarked when another maid came to deliver him the grapes he had earlier requested while waiting for Nayeli, "How was the Kingdom while I was away? Did you manage to look after them?" Before asking the princess further, he nibbled on one of the fruits. Nayeli, on the other hand, seems upset by the inquiry about his father. Their Kingdom didn't really pay attention to her, as was normal and to be anticipated. They would prefer to comply with a knight's order to one from Nayeli or answer one of her questions.
"Papa, I did my best. Simply put, I don't really have enough influence for people to trust me in the same way that they do you," Nayeli looked down, bearing the weight of the dissapointment. She would really love to at least have the support of someone except her father and Aurellio. But as of right now, it appears that she has only made friends with one vampire in the neighborhood. She scared even their knights and servants.
Once more, King Nelson reassured Nayeli, motioning for her to approach and take a seat beside him. "It's all. Don't worry about them too much. You are only six years old. I did not mean to pressure you like that."
The tiny vampire fidgeted on her fingers while responding, which caused his father to later laugh at his fear. "I am sorry, Papa. I did not mean to worry you too," she said.
King Nelson reassured Princess Nayeli, "It's all right, Nayeli. Later, maybe ten years from now or so, not only our fellow vampires will bend down before you, but every kingdom residing on this globe will undoubtedly do the same." Because they were his father's words, Nayeli was happy. She just wanted to keep it as it was and trust the King since she knew that his words would always be favored.
"By the way, how's this friend you met earlier in the garden?" His Higness added.
The moment Nayeli sat down next to her father, King Nelson gave her a fruit, which she quickly swallowed. "Oh, I forgot her name. I'm actually shocked that she isn't as scared as everyone towards me. I told her that she's free to come to my garden whenever she wants. Is that okay?"
Too much of the king's smile could be seen on his face. Actually, he is pleased that his child has finally made friends with other vampires. He even recalled that he had planned to let his daughter make friends with the Queen Witch's daughter earlier in the day. It appears that he no longer needs to care for Nayeli as much because she eventually becomes independent.
After some time of catching up, Aurellio interfered with the brief bonding experience between the father and daughter. The outdoor party could now begin. Every time the King leaves on a mission or meets with other kingdoms, it is customary for a feast to be given upon his return to honor his safe journey. Additionally, the King will be able to deliver his accomplishments from the earlier expeditions at the celebration.
To create room for their preparations for the feast, the two Royal vampires left the room where they were inside. As he prepared to take on his authority, King Nelson was required to dress to impress. Even though Nayeli would only be a few meters from her father, she was still expected to dress casually. She can support her father in this way, at least for her benefit. They had to wait for them for at least an hour and a half before they could even approach the crowd that had been patiently waiting for them.
As anticipated, a large number of citizens were there for both the King's remarks and the lavish fare and beverages the Kingdom was offering. Everyone is thrilled to be there because it is only occasionally that their type is fed with something unique. After some brief delay, Aurellio gave an introduction speech for the Royal Vampires, and then the address began. For the King, everyone gave a handclap. As the princess stands as expected by her father, there are murmurs that can also be heard.
"Everyone in this room is aware that I have been away on a trip for the past month. I've wanted to return home and tell you about the connections between our Kingdom and the Witches ever since that regal journey. I regret to inform you that the Queen wasn't very fond of the notion and our original suggestion to fortify our relations with them," the King paused for a second. He glanced at everyone in the area right before his eyes landed on his daugther.
To be completely honest, Nayeli's condition was one of the reasons the Queen was reluctant to establish a relationship with them. King Nelson, however, refrained from provoking his subjects' resentment of his daughter. He immediately reasoned that there would be further methods for establishing more ties. Furthermore, their Kingdom hasn't yet faced any attacks, thus its security wouldn't be greatly jeopardized. King Nelson had also considered another option, which he discussed with Aurelio, but he decided not to mention it in his speech.
He then continued, "I'm happy to inform you, nevertheless, that we have discovered a location where we can increase our food supply. The council can ensure our people that there will be enough food for the next two years as it will be taken care of starting in the next months. We're also happy to let you know that we reached a security agreement with a different vampire country, extending our protection from this point forward."
Everyone in the area clapped their hands in joy. Some of the crowd members were whistling, which energized them. The Princess hesitated to give everyone a quick glance as the King waved his hands in their direction. At the moment, Nayeli was aware that nobody there even expected anything from her. To any vampire in the area, her presence simply by standing there seems to be a show. However, while knowing that the celebration wasn't about her, the young princess persisted in encouraging herself to applaud her father.
King Nelson whirled around to face his daughter immediately following her speech. Everyone was still applauding and discussing his earlier presentation. Aurellio gave the go-ahead for the vampires to begin digging in and luring themselves into the feast a few minutes later. King Nelson enquired about Nayeli's condition once more. The princess took her time to give her father her congratulations. A little while later, her father invited her to sit at their royal table with them, so they could all enjoy their meal. Their booth was positioned in front of the stage, close to the stage, so that it would be clear how they differed from other vampires.
Someone in the audience remarked, "Perhaps her Princess' condition was the reason the Queen of the witches was hesitant to accept ties with us. You know, they too, are afraid of the possibility of being killed." Although it wasn't particularly loud, Nayeli could hear it. She's not sure if the voice was heard by anybody else, but it definitely made her blood boil. Before hearing another vampire agree with the first opinion, she would want to disregard it. Nayeli sensed something grabbing her knuckles this time. Before she even realized it, her father was clutching her fist and the king's palm was covered in blood.
"As it would harm your reputation further, Nayeli, you wouldn't want to harm your fellow vampire. Next time, I hope you'll restrain yourself and direct your rage appropriately. Is that okay?"
Nayeli didn't realize she had almost lost control and changed into a creature even her father would not have known she could be until that point. In her effort to avoid hurting anyone else besides her father, she accidentally injured her father, for which she later felt regret.
"I'm sorry, Papa. I didn't realize it until then," she murmured before looking down. His father lifted his chin a few seconds later.
King Nelson honestly said, "It's all right. I'm okay now. Come on, wander around and attempt to interact among the crowd." Nayeli, who is still anxious, bowed in apology to her father even if she doesn't particularly enjoy being with the group of people who also despise her. Fortunately, she had previously seen the young girl in her yard. She was about to speak to the little child not until someone from the crowd pushed her in not to protect the little child.
A man's scream rang in rage, "Get away from her! Don't you ever lay your hands on any of us! You filthy monster!"
When the teenage boy suddenly spoke, everyone started as though they were afraid that the King may be there. Another kid, on the other hand, concurred from the start. Nayeli didn't understand they were the same man who had been disparaging her for years until that point.
"Get out of here, monster, before you even kill one of us!"
Nayeli immediately concurred with the order given by the ordinary vampire. She is aware that no one likes her and that speaking back to them would be meaningless. Of course, since she is different from them, they will simply become more enraged with her.
The young girl approached Nayeli to touch her hands as she was ready to leave in an effort to stop her. And because the princess, who was already agitated, accidentally shoved Vien to the side, causing everyone to gasp in fury.
"You're a monster, see!"
Soon after, everyone in the area started throwing rocks at Nayeli. Nayeli's period of suppression was only brief. The princess, who was being hurled at in the middle, reasoned that since she hadn't really intended to push Vienn so hard, it was appropriate for her to be punished in this way. Up until that point, a loud bang could be heard nearby. Before the King had even known it, Nayeli had already killed a few citizens.
After a little moment, the crowd could see Nayeli's face. Half of her body was not proportional to its original size. Claws on the opposing hand are larger. Blood coated her tiny body, and her eyes glowed black.
In shock, the King said, "W-what have you done?!" The royal youngster collapsed from the recent killing and fell to the ground in an instant.
