V Despite Victoria’s absence, her letters flowed in like the storms of winter. For months I read them and didn’t respond, unsure of what I could say to not harm our fragile relationship. Eventually I gave in and responded to her missives- my last link to the woman I loved so dearly. I moved to a small home of my own, not wanting to bother my parents with my state of affairs.
