Chapter Twenty-FiveTwo months later Cornwall Jake pulled onto the drive, the warm sunny weather welcoming them home. They climbed out of the 4x4, stretching their collective backs. Katherine held Alicia close to her body, the child wriggling playfully. “We're home again, little one,” she said, kissing her curls. “This time, we're here to stay.” “I'll drink to that,” Jake said as he unlocked the front door. He put his shoulder to the door, pushing all the unopened mail across the hallway. He looked at the others. “Come on in.” A few minutes later, they were sat at the kitchen table as Jake emptied l****s of sour milk into the sink. “We need to go to the shops, Jake,” Katherine said. “Alicia will need nappies and wipes. Milk too. She needs that badly. I have none of my own to give her.”
