Chapter 11

Jacob Pov

When Emily wanted to meet Layla, it just gave me a terrible feeling, this was the girl that destroyed my best friend, and I didn’t want her to poison Em’s mind as well. The guys may be terrible, but I witnessed firsthand what they went through, especially Williams, he may be rough, but I know he is still dealing, no excuse for the things they have done, but with a real mate, I might be able to get my bros back.so I did what I can and let her to the prisons, and Mike was guarding them, he is one hard guy to deal with, I might not even be able to see that girl, but after rejecting my offers repeatedly, he agreed out of the blue. I was shocked but took what I can. When we made it inside, Emily began to act weird, somehow with a bit of fear of what she was going to find, which was weird because she never shows any fear. “are you ok? I can hear your heart beat accelerate” I asked her worried, but she just shook her head and nodded. I was not convinced but I let it go.

We made our way inside and Layla was cuffed, hands and feet. Em took a step forward, I wanted to stop her but then Layla spoke, “so to what do I owe the pleasure, the beta and a rouge” she didn’t hold back her hatred, always the same evil tone and annoying attitude, she didn’t even face us. “Samantha” Emily spoke with a sob, and it shocked me for a moment, who the hell is Samantha? “Emily” Layla said with emotions I have never heard from her before. I stood there shocked for a moment, this two knew each other? And from the look of it, they seem close. This is just trouble. Without giving me a moment to recover, Em ran to her and hugged her crying, yelling at her between sobs for disappearing and causing them to suffer, and I just stood there and watched.

After what seemed like an eternity, they finally parted. “so how did you end up here? What were you thinking Sam? You could have gotten killed” Em yelled, anger clearly visible in her voice. “let me explain Emily before you go all freak on me” Layla said looking concerned over Emily’s outburst. “explain? So do you care to tell me without telling anyone where you are going? Do you know the Stress you put us all under? Did you even care about your brother? The only sister he had left, you left us alone without care.” Emily was really angry. Was she not crying and emotional just a moment ago? I can never understand females. I went and held her to calm her down. “just calm down and listen to her, it won’t get us anywhere if you just go into rage. She looked at me before she calmed down and sat beside Layla. “I want you to judge me when I’m done” she glared at me and I nodded. “Em, you should remember that I told you that I would revenge my father’s, this was me fulfilling that.” He looked serious and I just kept looking between the two of them, ‘this was all for revenge?” I began to think maybe I misjudged her.

“do you remember, six years ago I came home alone injured after my father was killed, trying to protect me. You see, he wouldn’t have died had I not insisted on travelling with him to Dark Night pack. I wanted to travel with him because I was getting good at my magic and to help him along the way. That was around the time the twins had begun to terrorize rouges, so for me, he decided to travel through no man’s land, this was our safest bet, they would have no right there, it would take twice as long to get there, but it was fun and I got to practice a lot, but on our third day on the journey, he said he smelled some wolves, powerful ones and told me to hide our scent and we avoided the route they were taking, but I was only fourteen and just began practicing, so it took a lot out of me to hide our scent and shift at the same time so because of that, the spell didn’t last and they found us, so dad told me to climb a tree and hide my scent and no matter what happens, I must not come out until they are gone, then I’ll go home. I did that and watched dad fight them to protect me, keeping them away from me. I watched the twins kill my dad, despite how hard he explained that he was just passing through just like them and wanted no fight, they didn’t listen. We were not in their pack lands, heck we were in no one’s land, but they killed him simply because he was the rouge king’s beta, that was not a good reason. They took my father from me, so I wanted them to pay I wanted their lives. Its blood for blood, so I came here and made it seem like I was eighteen and their mate, so that I could get close to them to kill them, but Zamora had to mess it up and save them.” Layla told her story and by the end of it she was crying and yelling, she was hurt and her wolf was fighting to come out. I felt bad for her, and my wolf was mad and wanted to protect her, weirdly.

“but this was not the way to do it, you didn’t have to pretend, all you had to do is tell us and we would have helped you revenge, besides, that was against the laws” I could see Em getting mad again. “did you think about how I lived, you are my best friend yet you left without telling me? Or worse, did you think about David, did you think for once how he will feel when you left? you are his baby sister after all” Em kept babbling on and on but I was stuck, my mind ceased to function. ‘she’s David’s sister, she’s my mate’s sister? Now there is no chance for us’ I couldn’t help feeling helpless. Even if I were to tell the twins about my mate being rouge, they might have gone easy on me, but now… it will never work out well. I have to talk to David about this.

“Em, sorry to bother you when ranting, but what do you mean she is David’s sister?” I know she said it, but I wanted to know if I hears it wrong. I held her hand to gain her attention. She looked at me shocked for a moment, before she bust into a fit of laughter. “I’m sorry Jacob, I forgot this may not be easy for you considering your stand, but yes she is his sister” she winked at me. Still hearing it the second time, I still could not believe it. “what is it you guys are not telling me” Layla asked raising her eyebrow. “you see the thing is Jacob and D….” Emily was smiling, ready to explain, but then I pulled her into my arms and buried my face in her neck. You see, just when Layla sked, I caught sight of someone in the corner of my eye, for a moment I thought it was Zack, but then the scent told me it was Williams. That’s when everything made sense, the fact that Zack suddenly agreed to let us in here, it’s because Williams has been following us and could have told him to let us in, and now he listened to our conversation, and the last thing I needed was for him to find out about my mate, so I did this.

“Jacob, what…” Em, looked shocked and Layla surprised. “walls have ears, give it a minute” I said to assure her, and as if on cue, a low growl came from the door, causing her to shiver. “seems he followed us, I’m sorry that I did this” I whispered to her, making my voice sound very pitiful, but in actual fact, I just hate that I used her this way, but I am not sorry for it, at least this way, I got to realize that Williams actually has feelings for her, tiny feelings, but feelings nonetheless, I just feel terrible for what is to befall the both of us. “Well Layla, you too, caught up, but now it’s time for us to get our time alone” I made sure my voice is seductive and held her closer, earning me a more furious growl and a smile on my lips. “goodbye” I said pulling Emily with me, but she began to say something to Layla in a language I could not understand and Layla replied with the same, causing both of them to giggle.

I pulled her and we rushed back to the pack house. “so what was that at the end, some secret rouge language?” I asked, curious. “no, though we have a secret language, this was one that Sam and I came up with when growing up” she said shrugging. “so what did you say to her?” I was curious about that. She laughed a bit, “well I told her that you are David’s mate and that he is the dominant one, she was happy about that, because at least her brother won’t be the one to carry the child” she said causing me to stop in my tracks. I completely forgot about this. One of the miracles bestowed upon us is male pregnancy. You see, if a male is mated to a male, then the submissive male, being me in this case, can get pregnant and carry a child, same thing happens when a female is mated to another female, the submissive female can carry their child, all thanks to tech advances. So all this time I let him have his way with me… I need to talk to him about this as well. I stood there and sighed. “earth to Jacob” Em said snapping her finger in my face, with a huge smile on her face.

She was about to say something but I beat her to it, the last thing I need is her rubbing it in. “we need to hurry back, Williams is already angry, don’t want to upset him more now do we?” I raise an eyebrow and her smile faded as she let out a sigh. “come on, hold on, I can get us there in a matter of seconds” she said, not even giving me time to react as she held on to me and took off, and just like she promised, we were at the pack house in seconds. “how can you move that fast? Only vampires have that kind of speed” I was shocked, but she shrugged it off. “peaks of being a blood red, but not a word to anyone” she said sternly and I nodded, then held her hand as we pushed open the door, and just as I though, Williams was there waiting for us, eyes pitch black in anger. He looked at our locked hands and saw red, he growled, barely able to keep his wolf under control. I let go off her and he calmed down a bit. “I see you finally decided to grace us with your presence mate” he said in his Alpha voice, and I knew Robert was in control, as he began to advance towards Emily, carrying her like a sack of potatoes over his shoulder, earning a scream from her. He looked at me mad but I just gave him a smile. ‘best wishes Em’ I thought with a smile as I waved at her, while she glared at me with a look that could kill.
