Chapter 10 Abby DelaneyAbby stayed in bed and scanned the bedroom. It was simple, but easily the prettiest room she’d ever slept in. The queen-sized bed was spacious and so comfortable. Even when she stretched out like a starfish, she still couldn’t reach the corners. It was that big. The comforter was smooth against her skin and was oversized and puffy. It was like sleeping on a cloud. Or cotton candy—without the stickiness of the sugar. Louise had left early that morning. She knew because when she woke up, Abby spotted a note that had been slipped under her door. Abby, I've gone to Portland with Sarah to run some errands. There's cereal and oatmeal in the cupboards. If you prefer, there's some sliced bread in the fridge. Make yourself at home. I'll see you tonight when I get back.
