THE NEXT DAY SARAH went to Dockside Cafe to meet Louise and Kate. They’d all agreed to meet once a week over tea—they’d called it their Tea for Three dates. It was something that Sarah had begun to look forward to. As she walked along Lighthouse Road, Sarah couldn’t help but smile. The storefronts were all adorned with festive decorations and the air was filled with the hope and cheer that only Christmas could bring. From a short distance, Sarah saw three young girls. They were no more than ten, maybe eleven or twelve years old. As she neared them, Sarah could see one girl holding a pair of maracas. Another shook a tambourine. And the one in the middle—the one in a yellow coat two sizes too big—proudly held up a triangle and swayed her little hips as they sang Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reind
