Abby DelaneyAbby knew it was a dumb move to go and see the woman who’d been married to her father. Abby was the other woman’s child and she knew it. There was no denying that. But she didn’t have anywhere else to go. She couldn’t stand to be around her mother for one minute longer. And besides, her own father had suggested it. Long before he died in that stupid car accident. He’d told her, during one of his rare visits. “If something ever happens to me, I want you to go and see my wife, Louise. She’s a good person and she will make sure you’re looked after.” Then he’d given her a piece of paper with their home address and information, along with an envelope containing a letter for the wife.
