Sarah Gardner“Why didn’t you tell me?” Sarah put a cup of coffee in front of Caleb. “Black and strong, just how you like it.”
“Thanks,” Caleb said. He shifted in his seat and ran a hand through his hair.
She sat across from him and cradled her own mug of tea. Knowing what she now knew, Caleb looked sad, hurt, and tired.
“I didn’t know how to,” he said.
“I’m so sorry, Caleb.” Sarah reached across for his hand. “I was so consumed by my own troubles... I didn’t notice you were hurting too.”
Without looking at Sarah, Caleb put his hand over hers. “I’m the one that should apologize to you.”
