“Hey, Jack, old buddy. I’m so sorry we missed your birthday. Warren’s father had a heart attack and we went east to help out while he got his stuff back together.” Thomas and Jack had been friends since junior high school.
“No worries, Thomas. How’s Warren holding up? Newlyweds dealing with a health scare can surely test a relationship.” Jack had been best man for Thomas when the pair finally got their act together. He chuckled when he thought back to the comedy of errors that nearly caused the pair to never date.
