Before I could even forget to tell him, I greeted, “Happy birthday Jason.” His blue eyes looked at me, a sparkle igniting his irises. A smile was on his lips, the crinkles visible in his eyes. His face held a gentle look that warmed something at the pit of my stomach but I ignored it because I was afraid it would ignite into something I wouldn’t be able to handle in the future. “Thanks,” he replied, his fingers softly twining around mine. I still couldn’t process that the both of us were holding hands whilst we walked on the sidewalk, but here we were. Something platonic bloomed into something complicated, and I was scared, too scared to admit about what I was feeling. Maybe, I liked them both. Maybe I loved the both of them but at a different degree or maybe in a thousand different way
