I don’t know why, but when a girl is upset, she starts cleaning. Quite an engaging activity, I must say—the best substitute for any sedatives. Once the entire apartment was spotless, I moved on to making dinner. There was barely anything in the fridge; I hadn’t gone grocery shopping in a while. It seemed the moment had come. Not far from my place, there was a grocery store I really liked. My faithful leggings and hoodie came in handy as always. What a pity it’s forbidden to show up to work dressed like this. Viktor Ivanovich had made my personal dress code very clear the last time I arrived at the café wearing a tracksuit. I completed the look with a messy high ponytail. The air outside was fresh and cool. August was slipping away quickly, and unpleasant autumn would arrive all too soon
