I woke up in a good mood. During the night, I’d heard Maxim return and gently kiss my cheek. Stretching lazily, I opened my eyes—and froze. I shot upright and spun my head around, not understanding what was happening. I was in my old apartment. What followed made even less sense. Maya walked into the room and, with a satisfied smile, started rummaging through the wardrobe. “Maya?
