For the rest of the day, I floated on wings of happiness, as if under a spell. Only by evening did I realize that I hadn’t invited Maya to my wedding. Convincing Kirill to take me to see her the next day turned out to be surprisingly easy. Nature had granted a short reprieve from the cold, bringing back warm days. The sun gently heated the ground.
