EMBER P.O.V.
As Harley helps me out of the hospital, Flynn comes running up before us. The exit marked by the stubborn weight of Flynn's gaze lingering on me. His blue eyes, vivid and electric, spark emotions I refuse to acknowledge.
“No!” The growl slips from his lips like a storm brewing inside him. One look at his wolf and I can feel the ferocity radiating off him like heat from a flame. “Ember, please!” He pleads in a voice that is a mixture of desperation and anguish.
The intensity of his blue gaze bores into me, searching for any glimmer of understanding, of hope. Giving him a chance meant throwing myself into a tempest I was far from ready to navigate. I had wounded his pride, I know that, but the truth is like a blade tearing through the darkness of our surroundings.
