1035 Words
In the land of Azura, where the sun dipped into the horizon and painted the sky with hues of crimson and gold, the kingdom of Eldoria prepared for the most auspicious of unions. The Princess Liora, daughter of the mighty King Harlan, was to wed the dashing Prince Ezrael of the neighboring kingdom of Kalidon The palace gardens were abuzz with activity as the servants scoured every inch of the grounds, ensuring that not a single petal was out of place. The air was thick with the scent of exotic blooms, and the sound of laughter and music drifted on the breeze. Liora's mother, the wise and benevolent wife Lynn, had spent hours preparing her daughter for this momentous occasion. She had taught Liora the ancient traditions of their people, and had helped her choose a gown that would rival the stars in brilliance. The gown was a masterpiece of craftsmanship, with intricate lace and embroidery that seemed to shimmer in the light. Liora looked like a true princess, her beauty radiant as she prepared to walk down the aisle. As Lynn helped Liora into her gown, she leaned in and whispered words of wisdom. "Liora, my dear, you are about to embark on a journey that will take you to the farthest reaches of the realm. Remember that a woman's place is to stand by her husband's side, to support him and to obey him in all things. He is your lord, and you must respect him above all others." Liora felt a shiver run down her spine as her mother spoke these words. She was scared, but she was determined to make her family proud. As she walked down the aisle, Liora's heart was pounding in her chest. Prince Ezrael was standing at the altar, looking every inch the royal he was. His eyes met hers, and Liora felt a flutter in her chest. He was even more handsome than she had imagined. The ceremony was a blur of ancient words and rituals, with the High Priestess of the ancient gods officiating the union. Liora's voice trembled as she repeated her vows, but Prince Ezrael's voice was strong and steady. As they exchanged rings, Liora felt a sense of wonder wash over her. She was now a married woman, bound to this man for the rest of her life. As they walked back down the aisle, Liam, Prince Ezrael's loyal knight, approached Liora with a grin. "I had always known you two were meant for each other," he said, his eyes twinking. "That's why I was trying to keep you both cool with each other." Liora smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Liam. Her mother, was crying as she waved goodbye to Liora. "I'll miss you, my dear," she said, her voice trembling. Liora hugged her mother tightly, trying to hold back tears. She knew she might never see her mother again, and the thought was almost too much to bear. As they set off on the journey back to Prince Ezrael's kingdom, Liora felt a sense of excitement and nervousness. She was now a princess, and she had a new life to navigate. The chariot ride was bumpy, but Liora didn't notice. She was too busy taking in the scenery and trying to process everything that had happened. Prince Ezrael was sitting beside her, his arm around her shoulders, and she felt a sense of comfort and security. " even if we share no love i will still respect you and treat you like a wife" he said to her his pairs of eyes scanning her. she looked away not saying anything As they arrived at the kingdom, Liora was greeted with cheers and fanfare. The palace was decorated with flowers and banners, and the air was filled with music and laughter. Prince Ezrael took Liora's hand, leading her into the palace. "Welcome home, my dear," he said, smiling at her. Liora smiled back, feeling a sense of wonder and excitement. She was finally a princess, and she was ready to take on her new role. The grand castle loomed before them, its stone walls imposing and majestic. As they entered, Liora's eyes widened at the sight of the assembled nobility. The king, Ezrael's father, sat at the head of the table, a warm smile on his face. Beside him sat his four wives, each one more regal than the last, and his eight princes, including Ezrael's six elder brothers, who looked like they had just sucked on a sour lemon. Rowan, the illegitimate daughter, sat at the far end of the table, her eyes fixed intently on Liora. Liora felt a shiver run down her spine as Rowan's gaze met hers, but she smiled politely, trying to hide her unease. As they sat down to eat, the king raised his cup, and the room fell silent. "To the newlyweds, may their union bring prosperity and strength to our kingdom!" The room erupted in cheers and applause, and Liora felt a moment of pure joy. But as the feast progressed, Ezrael's six elder brothers began to tease him, their words laced with poison. "Ah, Ezrael, still living in the shadow of Mother's absence, I presume?" One of them chuckled, "No wonder he's so...together, with no siblings to contend with." Ezrael's jaw clightened, his fist tightening beneath the table. The room seemed to grow colder, the air thick with tension. Liora felt a chill run down her spine, and she softly squeezed Ezrael's hand, offering a reassuring smile. "Don't let them get to you, you are so much better than them, your highness," she whispered, her voice filled with conviction. Ezrael's lips curved into a small smile, and he murmured, "Thank you." With a nod, he stood up, and Liora followed, her hand still in his. They bid the king and the others goodnight, and made their way to Ezrael's own quarter, the silence between them a comfortable one. As they walked, the sound of laughter and music faded into the distance, replaced by the soft rustling of leaves in the night breeze. Liora felt a sense of relief wash over her, happy to be leaving the tension of the feast behind.
