Chapter nine (Cody)

Wow, I knew Sam cared for Lilia a lot, but I didn't think anyone could care for someone that much. “Hey boys, we have a mission to complete,” calls Charlotte, why does she seem so nice all of a sudden. “How are we going to stay warm at night in this, and me and Cody are going to burn up in the day because of all this black” says Lilia. “Hey don’t bring me into this I actually like my outfit unlike others” I say. “Don’t get me wrong, I love the outfit But I was just wondering” says Lilia. Since when does she like her outfit, she changes her mind so much it is annoying. “Like you said, the black will help you catch heat,” says Charlotte, she looked at calmly like she trying to be like Lilia and not show emotion. “And what about you guys, you need to stay warm too,” says Lilia. Lilia cares for people too much. That is something we are going to have to work on if they were going to work well together on this mission. “We will be fine,” says Charlotte. 

The king comes back “Okay, I am back,” says the king as he looks up at us. “Wow Charlotte, look at how well she did I mean Lilia you look amazing, and Cody still the same look but good, and Leo you are pulling of your style even if it looks like you are trying to hide something.” say the king, then the king looks at Sam, “but what did you give him, what is he wearing” says the king with a disgusted look on his face. “I just put him in what he likes,” says Charlotte. “Oh, I see he has no sense of style,” says the king. Wow, the king is really getting me today. Sam looked so angry Lilia was hugging him, but she was actually holding him back. 

“So what’s next?” says Lilia. The king smiles. “Let me just give each of you your bags for the trip, then I will send you off,” says the king. He gives out bags, he gives Lilia a big bookbag, Leo a biggish drawstring bag, Charlotte a little smaller bookbag than Lilia, and he gives me the same size backpack as Lilia. Which seems a little weird because I thought he wanted Lilia to feel like the leader. I still think she does not deserve to be the leader of this team, but it is still weird. Oh yay, I almost forgot Sam when I turned and looked at him to see what kind of bag he got I almost laughed. He got a little girl bag they carry to parties, and he got to carry the two tents. I could not help myself from smiling, but then Lilia gave me a dirty look and I bite it back. “Well that is it, Cody and Lilia, you have maps in your bags, okay” says the king we both nod, then Lilia looked at me weirdly. I could only guess she was thinking, why both of us. I shrug. “Alright, I will take you to the forest, then we will say goodbye," says the king. Sam looked at the king like the sooner the better. 

We get to the edge of the forest and the king broke out in tears. We all looked at him weird, kind of concerned, or at least the girls looked concerned. “I know I just met you all today but I am going to miss most of you,” says the king as soon as he said most I decided I wanted to leave, so I helped Lilia drag Sam out of there and into the woods.
