Heels clacking on the concrete sidewalk, Amelia approaches the entrance to the club where a queue of overhyped rebellious teenagers and young adults so long that it went around the corner, were waiting to enter. She ignores the queue and heads straight to the front. She slides off her coat as she walks up to the beefy bouncer who looks her up and down and gives a low whistle of appreciation to which she just raises a perfectly arched brow and he quickly lifts the velvet rope. “Have fun miss”, he says, still staring at her as she walks past him and into the noisy interior, after which he closes up the velvet rope again, ignoring the protests of the people on the queue.
