He fired Celeste at 11 AM because she brought the wrong coffee but that wasn't the real reason.
Julian stood in the private elevator at 6:07 AM. The 50th floor was silent and that is the floor his office was on,he passed her desk before getting into his office.
The desk where her succulent used to be was empty now.
He stopped.
Celeste had started three days ago. She had rearranged everything. The monitor was on the wrong side, The pen holder was in the wrong place and The small vase where Maya kept fresh flowers—gardenias, always gardenias, he had never asked where she got them—was filled with something yellow and too bright.
He walked into his office and closed the door. He stood at the window for twelve minutes.
