Seagulls wailed to each other in the heavens far, far above Farida’s head. She halted for a moment, savoring the feel of her slippered feet in the warm, white sand. A sharp, cold gust of ocean breeze pounced, tugging at the bob box braids on her head that she’d done just yesterday evening and slapping her in the face with the ends.
