A more than friendly feeding... Farida dug out a portion of cake and lifted the fork to his mouth. As the cake pushed against his lips, his irises switched from light brown to dark green. Her belly flopped. Something was happening. This had gone beyond a friendly feeding. Kurt ate the cake, his eyes on her face. Their gazes collided. Farida felt heat in her solar plexus. Her stomach somersaulted. “Do you like it?” To his ears, his voice sounded grittier. “What?” “The cake...” he smiled and leaned sideways, bringing his face closer to hers. The scent of her vanilla-perfumed skin assaulted his nostrils. She swallowed saliva. Gosh. He was too near. She spotted the hairs in his close-cropped beard and the dimples denting his cheeks. And the muscle flexing in his jaw. Her pulse zinged. “Ye-es...” she stammered. Was he about to kiss her? Was she imagining this? But, no. His mouth, with those gorgeous rose-pink lips, was racing forward to merge with hers.
