As soon as I entered the classroom, someone shoved me hard from behind, almost making me fall. I turned around to see Laura, a cigarette dangling from her mouth, looking smug. "Bumpkin, you're in for it this time. Your good times are over!" With that, she swaggered back to her seat. My heart sank as I sensed something was wrong, and I hurried to my desk. Sure enough, my paper was gone. "Looking for this, dirtbag?" Jerry waved my paper maliciously in front of the class. Then, he tore it to shreds in front of everyone. I didn't move, as if it wasn't my paper being torn apart. "Seriously? You actually think that I don't have a backup of my paper?" I shook my head in mock surprise.
