Chapter 4: Training Part 1! Carmen POV

Over the last week, Lucas has been Hyper focused or so it seems. He wakes up, eats breakfast with the rest of the Pack, and then runs to the training grounds. From there he will disappear for hours in his study. At first, I thought he was using that time to paint, since that is obviously something he loves. But one day I noticed his door open, and he was at a table surrounded by books, and Journals. I also went to see him to talk another day, and just see how he was acclimating to the pack living. Yet, he wasn’t in the room. But during that time, I noticed none of the painting equipment was touched, and haven’t looked touched since they were moved here. Some days, Beta Adam would be with him, teaching him more about a lot of unknowns of the Red Moon pack that only members were privy too. When I asked Beta Adam why I’m not also being trained, he informed me, “Luna’s of the Red Moon Pack are usually trained by the previous Luna, and never before the mating ritual. And that’s because of the many different intricacies there are to an Alpha/Luna connection within the red moon pack. Things that you’re not able to understand right now. But do not worry Lucas’s mother left the information for you as well. After your Mated you will be given what’s needed.” And that’s when I was pushed out of his history training. It was like I wasn’t needed and all that matters to him was studying his heritage and getting stronger.

The part that is most painful and annoying is that I feel like he’s no longer interested in me. I know I’m being immature; He is my Mate after all, but he hasn’t even spoken to me, or trained with me. And I’m one of the warriors that will grade is physical ability. Even though I’m studying to be a doctor, I am still one of the Top 5 warriors in the Blue Moon Pack. Only Members who have ever beat me, are my dad the Alpha, His Beta, His Gamma and the Head of our Pack Guard training, Daquan. One of my best friends, and the Mate to my female best friend, Aria. Daquan and Lucas have also become really close this past week. Daquan is originally apart of the Red Moon. He was an infant when the red moon was attacked, and he is a member who always wished to find their Alpha. Every time he see’s Lucas, you can see the pride Daquan holds for his Alpha, well soon to be Alpha. Daquan pushes Lucas to the brink, and from what he tells me, Lucas has grown so much in the past week, it’s obvious he was meant to be the Red Moon Alpha.

Others from the Red Moon, who reside with our Pack haven’t been so welcoming. Some find Lucas to be unworthy, and he is everything that the red moon was not. Some of the older refugees from the Red Moon, believe that Lucas is a Lie, Beta Adam created, and the true alpha died 21 years ago. All in all, Lucas is determined to show them all he is worthy. And it’s visible in all his hard work. I just wish my jealousy would subside. Even though I have decided I will not be ignored anymore. That’s why I’m here now, at his door planning to force him to talk to me. Also, to take him out to do something needed. Something he should of and needs to be completed before his birthday tomorrow.

As I knock on the door, my blood spikes, and my wolf becomes alert.

“We’re going to see our Mates!?” Melania asked.

“Hopefully, if he doesn’t continue to run from me.” I responded. But then I heard shuffling and then Lucas’s Voice threw the door.

“Carmen, we can’t be near each other!” Lucas’s voice boomed threw the door in a commanding, sure way, its obvious he is starting to get a handle on his Alpha Powers.

“I see your learning how to be an Alpha, and quickly. But you should know that Alpha tongue does not work on a true mate!” I explained to him. I then continued, “I’m not here to stop your progress. Also, understand I am one of the people you must fight during your test, so running from me is ridiculous. You won't be able to beat me if you don’t train with me. And lastly your birthday is tomorrow. So, I thought it maybe best to have you shift soon, or you will never be able too.” After I finished saying my peace, two minutes passed. Then Lucas opened his door.

“Understand, I would love nothing more than to get to know you. Smell your sent, train with you and more. But all these different emotions and abilities make it impossible to be around you.” Lucas’s eyes flashed with heat and a glow that let me know his wolf was close to the surface. He than continued with a growl, while bracing the door frame with all his strength. “I want you more than I’ve wanted anything! I know it’s our wolves, and the Mating bond. And I know if we rush everything with us, it will hurt OUR, future Pack. And I can’t let that happen! We can’t let that happen! No matter how delectable you smell.” When he finished speaking my entire body was aflame. I wanted him equally as much, then it all made sense to me. Why he stayed from me. Focused on getting stronger, more knowledgeable of the history of his people. It wasn’t to stay away from me only, it was so he can get to me faster. And once I understood his motives, I launched myself at him. And passionately kissed him, and hard. He lifted me up, as I wrapped my legs around him. He kissed me with a raw need, as he slammed me against the door, after closing it. After a minute, Lucas stopped kissing me and said, “Carmen!” with cconviction, and a bit of Warning. “Lucas, shut up! And kiss me!” I told him, tired of him running, tired of needing him. And with that he stopped trying to stop and kissed me hard and passionately. He bit my lower lip, growling,

“You have no idea, do you! How much you drive me crazy!” Lucas started to kiss me again, running his hand up my body when suddenly, Lucas rushed away from me, and in an instant I felt cold. When I looked into Lucas’s eyes, I saw Kai was in control, and he was angry!

“Do you understand what your doing, if you two allow the hormones of the four of us to run rampant before Lucas is ready!” Before I can answer, Kai answered his own questions, “The death of all things, not just Werewolves. Of all people every where!”

“What do you mean!?” I asked,

“I am the Reincarnation of the first Red Moon Alpha! The Red Moon is the only Pack of Werewolves with the ability to use the Alphas of the past to help the Alphas in the Future. But the First Alpha has never been called, do you know why!?” Kai asked me.

“No! No, I don’t know.” I said lowering my head.

Kai walked up to me, lifting my head. And looked at me in my eyes!

“Do not lower your head to me, You and Melania are our mates, you are our equals and not beneath us so do not bow.”

I acknowledged Kai statement and looked him in the eyes, as he continued.

“So, the truth is Lucas isn’t Normal! And neither are you! But In the Red Moon Pack, s*x is power. The connection between an Alpha and His Luna is important. Which is why we rather True Mates, over chosen Mates. That relationship brings a pure power to the entire pack. There is a prophecy that speaks of the two of you. You will learn the details about it soon enough, but this Prophecy needs the both of you to be at your strongest to survive it. And that’s why I’m here, to protect you both.” Kai then kissed my forehead sweetly.

When I looked up Lucas was looking back at me. So, I lightly grab his hand and told him. “I understand, but you still need to shift before your birthday tomorrow. And I also have a gift for you.”

As I smacked myself Internally for escalating things knowing that our hormones were not normal at this time. And I understood that before I even came to his room. Hence why I purchased the birthday gift I did, to help him. I knew he would need help with it, that we both would. So, for his birthday I went to a witch I knew and bought him an enchanted Watch to help him deal with smelling my scent, and to help him mask his own scent, as well. So, we can stop losing our mind every time we see each other. The mating bond is still here but the watch will help us with the control. I pulled the gift out of my pocket and passed it to Lucas and explained what the gift was and how it worked. It was even blessed to shift with him, so he doesn’t have to take it off. Lucas looked at the gift for a few mins, then up at me and spoke

“Thank you, and yes, I guess I should shift. And I would love to do it with you, for my first time.”

At that moment We both looked at each other for a short time, then started to laugh hysterically. We both noticed the double meaning in Lucas’s statement and couldn’t help but laugh. It helped us get so much of this pressure off our shoulders.

“Don’t worry I understand what you meant, let’s go this is going to be a treat for you. I took him to the edge of the pack house where the woods start to spread out.

“There is a water fall not that far, we can run there. You can also leave your clothes here so they can be retrievable when we return.” I explained to him while pointing to a tin can we keep on the edge of the pack house leading into the Woods.

“Okay, so what should I do to shift?” Lucas asked.

“You and Kai are already developing a decent connection so this should be easy. You just need to connect to him, allow him to take the wheel, and soon you will feel the tug on the full body shift. Don’t fight it, just allow your body to shift.” I explained,

“Easier said than done, but I’ll try.” Lucas said, with a slight laugh.

“I understand your nervous, but it’s honestly something your body just does, so just let it flow through you. I’ll go first to give you an idea. Try your best not to stare.”

I started to take my clothes off and watched how Lucas’s eyes flashed with heat. I shook my head expressing that he needed to calm his energy. We don’t want a repeat of earlier, then I slowly shifted. As my bones snapped and changed into my massive chocolate brown wolf, the same as my complexion. Melania stood tall in greeting, encouraging Lucas to shift. Lucas breathed deeply and started to take his clothes off. Even tho Melania is technically in control I can still see every inch of my mate. And I must admit the goddess has truly blessed him, and me by proxy. As he stood in front of us, naked and as sexy as sin. He lets the shift come forward. His bones began to snap at the joints. His arms elongated, fur began to sprout all over his body, and within a minute, Kai stood, towering me.

“So was that as painful as you thought.” I asked him in mind speak.

“It wasn’t that bad, but. Wait I thought I couldn’t mind speak until I reconnected the the Red Moon Pack!?” Lucas asked me.

“Lucas, did you forget we’re mates. That’s why I want to run with you. We are always able to mind speak. Even in human form.” I explained

“I had no idea, that’s kinda cool.” Lucas stated.

“Okay, Follow me! I have someplace to show you. Also, it will give Melania and Kai time together.”

As we took off, Melania took the lead knowing where we were headed. Kai and Melania played and nipped at each other as they ran full out. Kai was obviously happy to be free. God knows how it’s been for him trapped all these years in Lucas. It had to be torture for him as well.

“It was but thank you. For caring.” Kai said to me, surprising me out of my reverie.

“Wow, we truly are more linked than I even understand.” I stated

“Yes, we are.” Melania entered. Then she continued explaining.

“Carmen, we are all here to bring a change. Kai is the reincarnation of the first Red Moon Alpha. What do you think that makes me? To make us compatible for Lucas and Kai!?”

“Melania does that mean!?” I asked drifting off to the possibilities.

“In the beginning, in Africa, the goddess created werewolves as a protective species for the children of her brother, the humans. We were created to keep them safe from the creation her father and the other gods created before humans. The Gods fallen son and the maker of many monsters created as a mockery. These creatures created to punish his father, for punishing him. So, to protect the humans her brother created, The goddess began by creating Kai, the first alpha, and me the first Luna. Our children created the different Packs that became the 20 packs in existence today. But the Red Moon pack was the home and birthplace of all.” Melania explained.

“If you’re the first Luna, why was I born in the Blue Moon Pack!?” I asked as she continued to run threw the woods. Then noticing how silent he was, I asked, “You knew all of this, didn’t you Lucas!?”

Lucas responded first,

“Yes, Kai and Adam have been teaching me a lot about the Red Moon History. But also, my powers are starting to manifest. I can see past and future acts. As well as sense coming danger.”

“And you Carmen, like the first Luna and the previous Luna of the red moon, will be able to plan, and teleport item/objects and people.” Melania also explained. She than continued,

“The blue moon pack is the pack where me and Kai’s first born started his Pack. He was a healer who married a human woman and started the Blue Moon pack.” I am with you because you were destined to be with Lucas and all the powers in you too, are ingredients needed.”

In shock I let my mind wander, then screamed,

“WAIT! ME AND LUCAS ARE DISTANT RELATIVES!?” Kai and Melania both laughed at me in a light chuckle. Kai is the one who answered,

“By your logic, love, all werewolves are distant relatives. And you will be correct. But you and Lucas are no more distant relatives as any other two werewolves would be.” Melania added on saying,

“Also remember that the two of you were picked because of how you were blessed. If the Goddess chose, you that’s why. She has plans only she knows why.”

As Melania finished her statement, we reached the waterfall. In that instant Kai stops and Lucas says apprehensively, “Wow, I think I Dreamt this. And if my dream is correct, I think it’s best if we head back.”

“What do you mean, Lucas what’s wrong!?”

In that moment someone came through the waterfall. The man looked familiar, almost like Beta Adam but older.

“My, My, My, is that who I think it is. My great nephew, All grown up. Do you know how much I’ve looked all over for you.” The strange man said looking at Kai and Lucas.

Kai spoke in our heads in urgency,

“You two aren’t ready for this fight, your not even fully mated. He is banking your ignorance Lucas. So we will start to retreat. Beta Adam and the Alpha of the blue moon created contingencies and policies just for this type of situation. We knew once Lucas’s powers were activated they would start to come for him. And the fact he is still a Rogue wolf, makes him weaker, even if he is a destined Alpha. They will be stupid to not choose now to attack.” We slowly back away as Kai continues,

“Give your body completely to me, and Melania. We have access to our full powers, and full mating bond, you don’t, so don’t interfere.”

“I can do this; I don’t need you to protect me.” Lucas stated.

“This is not the time to fight with me Lucas! Do you want to gamble Carmen’s life with “Being ready”?”

Then an explosion went off to our left, and hit us, blowing us off our feet.

“Where do you think your going Nephew! Your mine and your too weak to beat me!” The strange man continued while stalking toward us. Two more things came out of the woods, things I’ve never seen, but read about in the history books. Forbidden hybrids, demon werewolves. Black, with blood red eyes with blood leaking from their mouths.

“Get him, and her. You can hurt them but don’t kill them!” The strange man said to them both.

In a loud commanding voice, Kai said, “Up now! And run! Melania dawn formation.” And in an instant, I had no say to what was happening to my body. I can see the actions, but I couldn’t even mind link Lucas. It was like we were pushed away for safety.

Kai and Melania both ran in a circular formation in opposite directions. Forcing the two beasts to also split up. At that time both Howled so loud that I’m sure the whole pack heard them. Then, in almost slow motion, the both of them came to each other, back-to-back. As the two hybrids came closer. Kai then stamped his front paw, to the earth, and we watched as the ground split. Then he started chanting something. I had no idea what he was chanting, or what it meant. It sounded like the song I sing to heal deep wounds. But whatever he was chanting was obviously connected to the earth. While the hybrids were distracted, they didn’t notice Melania stalk around. Before I even noticed the speed, she had her teeth sunk deep in the neck of one hybrid, while the other was stuck on the other side of the crack in the earth. Soon Kai joined Melania as they both got ready to attack final the hybrid. Then out of nowhere, werewolves in human form and wolf form flooded the area. Two stopped by Kai and Melania and set the remains of one hybrid on fire, while Beta alpha and Gamma Richard killed the second hybrid and set it on fire.

From the moment we met the weird guy in the waterfall, to when the pack arrived could not have been more than 5 minutes. I think Lucas shared my sentiment in the awe I felt for Kai and Melania, because Kai said to us,

“Soon you too with be just as strong. But know we have already put a lot in place to keep you safe until you get there. Me and Melania, are your teammates and your support. But you are the ones in charge, and we need to get you prepared.”

Both me and Lucas shifted back to human form. The guards provided us with clothes. Beta Adam ran to us and asked, “Are you two okay!?”

I responded, “We’re fine, Kai and Melania protected us, we did nothing.”

Lucas also said, “Yeah, I put us in danger, I should have known better, I dreamt this.”

Beta Adam looked at Lucas with sympathy and said,

“Lucas! You needed to shift before midnight tomorrow. You did what you were meant to. And because of the dreams and warnings you provided we were able to make plans for many possibilities with Kai over the past week. I keep telling you, your ready for this! You’re meant to be the red moon alpha!”

Lucas looks down and walks away toward the pack house. I followed him, and asked him,

“Talk to me, tell me what you’re feeling.” He stopped and looked to me, and responded, with mind Speak.

“I felt useless, scared! And I felt weak! And I never wanna feel that way again!”

“I understand, and we will get stronger, together! Everything coming is on both of us. And we will become what we are destined to be, together!”

Lucas breathed deeply, grabbed my hand and kissed my lips softly.

“Let’s get some rest, tomorrow we’re going to be worked to the brink. I think it’s time you learn everything I know. And I learn what you know. We can’t continue to be separate in this. And your birthday gift is helping. Not 100 percent but enough to survive.” He said with mind Speak, with a smile and a chuckle.

I laughed and told him, “Well later today, not tomorrow! But first and foremost, today we celebrate your 21st birthday.” I told him with mind Speak. Then I leaned forward and kissed him lovingly on the lips and said to him out loud.

“Happy Birthday Lucas!”
