The grandfather clock in the hallway chimes midnight as I stand before Oliver's study, my heart thundering against my ribs. The house is silent except for the distant hum of the security system. Oliver is away at a late business meeting - or so he claims. My fingers tremble as I insert the keycard I'd secretly duplicated last week.
