"This is just the beginning," the whisper echoed in Ariana's mind. She turned to Alessandro, her eyes narrowed. "What did you mean by that?" Alessandro's expression was inscrutable. "Victor's not the only one playing the game." Léa's head snapped up. "What game?" Ariana's voice was low. "The one where we don't know who's using who." Alessandro's gaze locked on hers. "Exactly. You and Léa are pawns. But you can be more." Léa's eyes flashed. "What do you mean?" Ariana's smile was cold. "We take control." Alessandro nodded. "I'll give you the tools. But you need to trust me." Ariana's heart pounded. Could she trust him? Léa's voice was a whisper. "What tools?" Alessandro's smile was calculated. "A secret. One that'll change everything." The villa's shadows seemed to twist, like living things. Ariana's voice was low. "What secret?" Alessandro leaned in, his breath on her ear. "Your father's not who you think he is." Ariana's world spun. What did he mean? Léa's eyes were wide. "What are you saying?" Ariana's voice was barely above a whisper. "Tell us." Alessandro's gaze locked on hers. "Not yet. But soon." The room fell silent. The clock ticked down. Ariana's heart pounded. What secrets was her father hiding? Suddenly, Léa's phone buzzed. A message from an unknown number. "Meet me at the old windmill. Alone." Ariana's instincts screamed. "It's a trap." Léa's smile was cold. "Let's spring it." Ariana's gaze locked on Alessandro's. "You're coming with us." Alessandro nodded. "Always." As they slipped into the night, the shadows seemed to swallow them whole. The game had begun. And nothing would be the same again. The old windmill loomed ahead, its blades creaking in the wind. Ariana's heart pounded. What waited inside? The door creaked open. A figure emerged. "Ariana..." Léa's breath caught. "Henrik?" Ariana's world spun. What was her brother doing here? Henrik's eyes were wild. "Ariana, I..." A shot rang out. Henrik stumbled. Ariana's scream was lost in the chaos. Ariana's scream echoed through the night as Henrik stumbled, a dark stain spreading on his shirt. Léa's voice was a terrified whisper. "Léa, help!" Ariana scrambled to her feet, her injured arm searing with pain. Alessandro was already beside Henrik, assessing the wound. "It's bad," Alessandro said, his voice tight. "We need to get him to a doctor." Léa's eyes were fixed on Henrik's face. "Who did this?" Ariana's gaze scanned the shadows. "Victor." Alessandro's jaw set. "He's escalating. We need to move." Ariana's voice was low. "Henrik, what were you doing here?" Henrik's eyes fluttered open. "Ariana... I had to warn you." Léa's grip on his hand tightened. "Warn her about what?" Henrik's voice was weak. "The prophecy... it's true." Ariana's heart skipped a beat. "What prophecy?" Henrik's gaze locked on hers. "The one about you... and Léa." Ariana's mind spun. What was he talking about? Alessandro's voice cut in. "We need to move. Now." As they lifted Henrik into the SUV, Ariana's thoughts swirled. What prophecy? And what did it mean? The drive back to the villa was tense. Henrik's breathing grew shallower. Ariana's voice was a whisper. "Henrik, stay with us." Henrik's eyes flickered open. "Ariana... trust no one." Léa's voice was tight. "Not even Alessandro?" Henrik's gaze locked on Alessandro. "Especially him." Ariana's heart pounded. What did Henrik mean? The villa loomed ahead. Alessandro's phone buzzed. "Victor's closing in," he said, his voice grim. Ariana's jaw set. "We'll be ready." As they pulled up to the villa, Dr. Valois rushed out. Ariana's voice was low. "Save him." The doctor nodded. "I'll do my best." As Henrik was whisked away, Ariana turned to Léa. Léa's eyes were haunted. "What just happened?" Ariana's voice was barely above a whisper. "I think we're in way over our heads." Alessandro's gaze locked on hers. "You're not alone." The villa's doors closed behind them, swallowing the night. In the shadows, a whispered promise: "This is far from over." Ariana's heart pounded. What was coming? The clock ticked down and everything slowly began to crumble.
