The team gathered around the whiteboard with their morning coffees. Carl attached a photograph of Doug Clarke’s car onto the board.
‘This is the victim’s car,’ said Carl. ‘It was located fifteen kilometres south of North Summit early yesterday morning. Forensics have retrieved it and will examine it today. Hopefully, we’ll get something that might help us identify the driver.’
‘Surprised it wasn’t torched,’ said DC Paterson.
‘Maybe someone wanted us to find it,’ said DS Fuller.
‘Or we’re dealing with someone who either doesn’t know what he’s doing or doesn’t care enough to hide his tracks,’ said Carl. ‘Anyway, DS Fuller and I went up to have a look and speak to the locals. The car was concealed from the highway but left next to a spot where some farm kids catch the schoo
