Chapter Thirty-Three On the afternoon of Thursday, the eighteenth of October, the activities of the Major Crimes Section came to an early end. At two pm, the detectives, who had reported to Detective Chief Inspector Rankin, crossed the square to the cathedral opposite Police Headquarters to attend his funeral service.
