# ABEL When mom told me to leave,I knew she felt whatever the general wanted to tell her was too matured for me. I appeared in the palace's hallway. I admired the statues of different warriors erected on both sides of the passage. I was amused, all of those warriors had their names and birth/death years inscribed below them. At the end of the hallway was a turn. "Another passage" I grumbled. I walked forth, thinking about how my people were faring. I wondered what was up with Sharon. I really missed her. I wondered what was up with Drake and Drex,I hoped Drake wasn't hitting on Sharon. What if he hit on her? We were in an open relationship but still, it didn't mean she should live like a w***e. I rubbed the thoughts off my mind as I appeared in the other hallway. Unlike the previous one, statues of previous kings were erected on both sides of the wall. I was marvelled, studying the number of kings Astera had had so far. All of the kings surprised me especially the first king. "King Solomon." I muttered. I felt uneasy. "Is it king Solomon inscribed in the scriptures?" I asked and walked closer to his statue. My anxiety increased when I saw he was a Multibreed. It was then I noticed something, the kings that followed were Multibreeds except for the last king who was a Faerie. I smiled and looked at the statue of my mother which was the last. She was the only female leader of Astera and that instilled some sense of pride in me. I felt special being a Multibreed and the son of the first ever ruling Queen of Astera. I looked at her birthday which was inscribed at the base of her statue. I didn't understand how they recorded their calendar but from what I saw,she must have been a hundred years old. I walked further, trying to keep my mind in a peaceful state. Then,I stopped after minutes of walking, I realized I was stressing myself. I was about to leave when something caught my interest. There was a phantom being that zoomed past me. I darted my eyes after it and followed it. It was a really fast creature which zoomed into a corner. I entered the corner after it and found myself in a dark tunnel. I looked back and saw the wall,I wondered how I got there. The phantom creature was still moving fast ahead of me. I didn't know why but I chased after it,not bothering to find my way out of there. After waltzing past several corners,I appeared behind the phantom creature which had now appeared to be trapped between me and a wall of flames. "Turn around with your hands in the air" I blurted. Still it stood, ignoring my order. "Who or what are you?" I questioned, realizing my first statement was stupid but the question would be answered. "Now...That is the question to ask" the creature replied and formulated into a human figure. Slowly,it turned around, revealing its face. "Dad?" I called, amused. "Surprised to see me son?" Dad asked, his lips curving up a smile. "Yes Dad. It's been a while" I said and rushed forth to embrace him. I went through him and almost got into the flaming wall. "Oops. I forgot to tell you" Dad said and walked away from the wall. I followed him, knowing he was here to give me answers. Answers to questions I had never thought of asking. "What are you doing here dad?" I asked as we walked back the way we came. "To give you answers" he replied. I already knew that already. I began to wonder what to ask him. He was a ghost and probably didn't have enough time to spend here. "So?" I said, prolonging my sentence. "So what?" "So dad,are my friends safe?" I asked. "You're so selfless. You always worry about your friends" he said and chuckled. "So,are they alright?" I asked impatiently. "They'll pull through and don't ask me any more questions about them" he said and kept walking. To be honest,I had no questions to ask him. No questions popped in my mind at that moment. "Okay dad. So tell me,is there anything else I need to know?" I asked. He looked at me then faced the road forward. "You should have asked that since. Son,trust no one" he replied instantly. I froze, shocked by his sudden warning. " Trust no one? Does that mean I'm about to be betrayed?" I asked. He looked at me,chuckled and c****d his head sideways, staring at the deep, dark clay wall of the tunnel. "You're caught in struggle. A struggle for power. If I were you son,I'll beware of everyone now." He warned. I looked at him,his manly frame reminding me of when I saw him in the trance during my duel against my future self. I had never spent real time with him,but I trusted and believed everything he told me. Why would there be a reason to doubt him? "Abel. This situation is like a soccer game. Both teams are playing against themselves to win by scoring a leading goal. You are the ball, you are the one to decide either's victory but you have to suffer to decide the winner." "You have suffered severally and your suffering is yet to be over. Neither your mother nor Doom has attained victory. It depends on you to determine the victory." He explained. To be honest,I didn't know why he was telling me all of that. I knew both mom and Doom were enemies but Mom was the right one. Doom was evil. The way he was speaking told me to be careful around everyone, including mom. I couldn't do that. "Do those snitches include mom?" I asked. He ignored me and pointed at a wall. "There's your way back." He said. "But what about you?" I asked. "Don't worry,I'll be there for you when you need me." He assured. I felt reluctant to leave,I felt really sad leaving my father again. If I could just spend more time with him? "Okay, bye Dad" I bade him and went closer to the wall. "Son" he called. I rapidly turned around. "As for the dark Multibreed,it would still be birthed but you can stop it" he stated. I gawked at him awkwardly, feeling confused. "The Dark Multibreed? I already defeated him. Does that mean my evil would still manifest?" I asked. He chuckled and nodded his head. "Those were the questions you should have asked son. Unfortunately, there's no time...Its just energy." "You'll find the answers to your questions soon" he replied. Before I could ask another question,he shot a beam of light at me,throwing me backwards. I got up and looked around. It was then I noticed I was back in the hallway. Without thinking twice,I teleported out to the estate road, deciphering all my father had just told me. There weren't specific answers to my questions but I already knew a lot. I already knew I was the Multibreed and with that,I'll face whatever s**t coming in my way head on. . . . The streets of Bartlesville was filled with the hustle and bustle of the citizens. During noon was the busiest time of the day and that day wasn't an exception. Amongst those citizens was the dreaded Doom who had a cloak shielding his face. He towered above everyone in height and might and walked fast. He stopped outside a boutique and waited patiently for someone, perhaps confirming if the person he was awaiting was still there. Meanwhile, the boutique was acknowledged with the presence of Elsa and Sharon who shopped different clothes. Sharon suddenly felt a familiar presence and looked outside. She froze as she saw Doom who stared at her evilly. "Elsa, let's leave" she said, tapping Elsa. "Why?" Elsa asked, carried away by her activities. "Doom. He's here" Sharon replied, pointing at Doom who still stood outside. "Let's get him" Elsa replied. "No...Not here" Sharon replied sternly. "But you're a witch, you can wipe the citizens' memories." Elsa protested. "Still,Doom is dangerous. There's no telling what he can do" Sharon hushed and rushed to the counter to pay. She hurriedly paid the bills, giving the attendant a tip. She dragged Elsa to the dressing room and as soon as she got there, she teleported both of them home. "We should have fought him" Elsa said as they appeared in the living room. "No,he's dangerous. He could kill us." She replied. "If he could kill us,why didn't he do so?" Elsa asked. "He needs Abel so he'll mess with our heads first." Sharon explained. She dropped the items on the chair and sat. Elsa just stood, surprised at the way this team ran. Her previous friends would have taken the opportunity to fight but these guys were just too patient. "Okay. So what do we do now?" Elsa asked. "I dunno. We should just lay low" . . . "Dwayne" Lee called. "Was it successful?" "Yes,I already contacted the government of the other city." He replied. "Good. Yao, what about you?" Dwayne asked. "I've got info. And its big." Yao replied. Dwayne got up and hurried towards him. "So. What's the information?" He asked. "The device actually worked. It transmitted the communication but unfortunately not the location." He replied. That saddened Dwayne for a moment. He had expected his plan to work fully but half the result was what he got. . . EARLIER "So guys what's the plan?" Yao asked. "Let's just go to the stadium and investigate. We'll find our clues there" Yu Yuan replied. By then, they were all in the safe house, contemplating on another plan of action. Dwayne who was silent all through, finally spoke. "Lee,I want you to contact the next city's government, telling them to Quarantine their citizens that went for the game. Give them the quarantine facility idea, freezing cold" he instructed. "Already did that but I'm awaiting a reply" Lee replied. "Good. Yao,I've heard you're good with devices. Could you get me an audio tracking device?" He asked. "Definitely. Why do you need it?" He asked. "I've got a hunch we'll cross paths with Draco or any of his allies who spread the parasite. They'll be expecting us to show up and we'll give them a good fight. While doing that,I'll plant the device in one of his allies so when they leave,we'll be able to trace them to Draco and also hear their plans" he replied. "Whoa Angus MacGyver, you've got quite the brain." Yao joked and left the main room they were present. "Stan,Yuan, you guys would be following me to the stadium. The rest should stay at elder Zhang's place" he instructed. Immediately,Yao returned with a little chip in his hand. "Here it is. Mobile, minute and effective" he said as he handed it to Dwayne. FORWARDING As Dwayne grabbed the leader and drove him into the wall, landing a heavy forearm on his face,he stuck the chip on his head, securing it there. . . . PRESENT "So what did they say?" Dwayne inquired. "They have already planted the parasite in you" Yao stated. The bombshell hit Dwayne. He wondered how and why and then,he remembered when he was fighting the minion. He remembered when the minion hit him with flames. He felt a tingling sensation in his head but he didn't take it serious. He now knew why his head was aching. "Why would they infect me?" He asked Yao who smiled and tapped his tablet. "Well, they said something about making you under Draco's control." He replied and looked at Lee. "Well...That explains that." The latter said and walked to the door. "We're needed at the station. I'll be leaving now" he said and left. Dwayne stared at Yao,wondering why he wasn't leaving. "You should go" he told him. Yao shook his head and stared at his father who had a scroll in hand. "Lee has got it covered. My primary duty is to ensure my brothers are safe." He replied. Dwayne began to wonder if he was the oldest brother. There was no age difference from their looks but with the way he just spoke,he seemed to be the eldest. "So what's next?" He asked, knowing the thoughts on his head were not to be voiced out at the moment. "Well we need to get that thing out of your head" Yao replied and made to leave the room. "Where are you off too?" Dwayne asked. The former looked back, resting his gaze on his unconscious brother. "We're seeing a doctor." He replied. . . . Right outside the temple was one of the minions. He had a headphone on his head. He smiled, listening to the conversation that ensued in the house. His smirk signified that they were in trouble. "A doctor? They won't know what hit them" he said and faded into the shadows resting on the wall. To be continued.... Oops, just when things were beginning to progress.
