ENEMIES

"Who's the Doctor?" Dwayne asked,hurrying after Yao.

"Doctor Sue Mike" Yao replied then stared at Dwayne.

"Are you following me?" He asked, amused.

"Yeah,got a problem with that?" Dwayne asked.

"Not really. I'm just asking." Yao replied and walked faster.

"Oh. Shouldn't you be with Dad watching over Stan and Yu Yuan?" He inquired and stopped before his SUV.

"Nah. They are going to be fine." Dwayne replied and got into the front passenger's seat.

Yao ignited the car and smoothly reversed the car. He drove the car into the main road and drove at a normal speed,ensuring to not break the speed regulations.

"So how's this Doctor? Is she a supernatural?" Dwayne asked,breaking the silence that reigned.

"Yeah,she's a Dragon but she isn't in the support of using her powers. She only uses them when she's treating a patient with a supernatural case" he replied and took a right turn.

"Oh. I'm guessing she's an introvert?"

"You bet" Yao replied as the drive continued.

They both stared at the road,letting silence reign in the car.

Dr Sue Han,a stout 5ft4 woman,was seated behind a desk that was piled with files.

She had long hair that flowed to her shoulders. Half her hair was dyed blonde while the rest was fashioned in a blue and yellow collage.

She had a pair of recommended glasses and was dressed in a white coat with a stethoscope hung around her neck.

She had a huge,red book which had an image of a skull on the cover.

It was obvious she was reading a book on the human skeletal structure.

She heard a knock on her door...that was odd,she never expected any visitors and if anyone was to visit her,he or she was to call her before coming.

"Perhaps its an emergency" she thought but another thought crossed it.

"If it was am emergency,the person would have knocked rapidly" she reasoned again.

Finally,she had no other option than to let the person in.

"Come in" she said.

Slowly,the door opened,revealing the minion who as usual,had its eyes glowing yellow.

"Who are you?" She asked,already feeling insecure.

Being a Dragon, she felt the aura from this creature,it was more of a Dragon but she wasn't going to take her chances.

So,she stealthily took out a revolver with freezing cold bullets loaded in it.

"Mrs Sue Han. It's a pleasure to meet you" the minion stated and sat before her. He had his legs crossed and beamed an evil smile.

"Who are you and what do you want from me?" She asked again,backing up to the wall behind her.

The minion also inched closer,taking those slow,long strides that struck fear into the middle aged woman.

"Nothing much. Its just that I need you for a quick job. If you can do it,you're guaranteed safety" he replied.

She lowered her guard, feeling a bit secure.

"What job is that?"

"There is a friend of yours named Yao,he's about to bring a friend who's infected with a parasite in for a quick surgery. If you can fake the treatment,you're guaranteed to live and see another day but if you don't,I won't mind sending you to the afterlife" he explained.

She looked at him,wondering. She had been studying this new epidemic and had wondered what was causing them. She didn't have any test patients because they weren't to be caught easily.

Now she knew but her life was under threat by a stranger.

She could fake it but there was no use escaping,he'd still kill her.

So,she decided it was best to do the righteous,even if she was going to die,she'd die a righteous person.

"I've made my decision" she voiced out.

Eagerly,the minion asked. "What is your decision?"

"Go to hell you evil son of a b***h" she replied and shot him with the revolver.

He fell on the ground,a result of the impact of the shots. She walked above him and spat on his face.

As she was about to leave,she felt something stab her in the back. She turned her face and saw the minion right behind her,with his claws dug deep into her.

"I warned you" he said and hit her with a roar of flames. She burnt into ashes,causing the room to be dark and infused with smoke.

"Stupid b***h" he groaned and sat on her desk.

He suddenly transformed into her and cleared the mess before resuming to the desk,patiently awaiting the unsuspecting duo of Yao and Dwayne.

Abel wandered back into the palace,knowing he had a responsibility. All his father had just revealed to him still struck him in the head. He began to wonder who his enemies were.

He trusted his mother,she was the only one he ever bonded with in Astera but someone he didn't really trust was the General. He had this suspicious look and the way he also behaved freaked Abel.

Other than that,he had no one to suspect. He couldn't suspect Ella who was merely a maid who served her Queen with everything she had.

His thoughts were instantly interrupted as he bumped into Ella who was concentrated on her phone. Before the phone fell,he caught it and caught her as she lost her balance.

They both locked gazes,staring deeply into their eyeballs.

Ella admired his deep,dark eyeballs. She began to wonder how strange he was. He had blue eyeballs before but at the moment,they were dark.

Abel stared at her eyeballs,feeling drawn to them. They reminded him of Sharon's and in that moment,he snapped back into reality when he heard the murmurs of passers by.

He pulled her up and handed her phone.

"I saved you again" he said and handed her phone to her.

"Yeah thanks. I'm sorry for bumping into you your highness" she immediately replied and bowed,realizing she was before the Prince.

"Get up and please call me Abel" he told her,helping her up. He looked at her again. Something felt odd about her,he felt he needed to know more about her.

"Thank you so much.. A..Abel" she replied,feeling jittery.

He chuckled softly and held her by the hand,heading into the palace.

"So you mind telling me where you were going?" He asked. She felt amused,was he really talking to her? In public?

"I just wanted to see my brother" she replied.

"So she has a brother?" He wondered. "I really need to know more about people"

"Okay that's great. Do you mind if I escort you? I'm kind of bored and I need company?" He requested. By then,they were in the half empty courtyard.

"Y..yes" she stammered again.

"And I'll need to get myself a phone. When you kidn*pped me,you forgot to take my phone" he said with a slight chuckle.

She chuckled nervously,wondering why the Prince was interested in her,she was just a common maid but then,it struck her, she was the one who brought him there.

"Yes,I know of a*****e where you'll get the latest phones" she replied.

In that moment,Evelyn called his name.

Abel traced her voice and startled. She was just a few feet before him. He hadn't been looking ahead of him.

"Yes mom?" He replied with a question.

Ella immediately knelt, acknowledging the Queen's presence.

"Get inside, we've got a lot to talk about." She ordered.

"You're dismissed,you can now go without him meddling in your business" she dismissed Ella who then got up,blushing. The way the Queen spoke showed she knew of the Prince's interest in her and that she didn't object. Glad,she walked out of the palace.

"Mom I'm not a kid. I don't need a bloody bodyguard" Abel objected.

By then,they were in the Queen's chambers and Evelyn had informed him about the latest turn of events.

"I know but I'm not hiring a bodyguard to protect you" she replied.

"Then why did you hire one?" He asked.

"He's an odd person. I realized he needs someone like you to be understood."

"Mom. Am I a psychiatrist?"

"No son. The thing is...I don't really trust that guy,he lives two different lives,he acts like a loser,yet he's unimaginable."

"I need you to help me interrogate him. I need you to know who he really is" she explained.

Abel kept quiet,realizing there was a lot of sense in what she had just said. His father had warned him about enemies,his father had warned him to beware.

What if this 'BODYGUARD' was an enemy in disguise?

He knew he had to be proactive.

"Okay mom,I'll do it" he said.

That reply delighted Evelyn until he said.

"On one condition"

"What condition is that dear?" She asked.

"He doesn't stalk me. When I tell him I need privacy,I need privacy." He stated. She stared at him.

"Yes but what privacy do you need? Are you trying to have Ella?" She inquired.

"No Mom."

"Oh Abel,you're just as romantic as your father"

"Hey Doc,I'm at your place already and I kind of need your help with a friend. Permission to come in?" Yao recorded via a w******p voice note to Dr Sue.

Beside him was Dwayne who's gaze was fixed on his phone.

"Are you ready bro?" Yao asked,making him tear his gaze from the phone.

"Yeah,I'll just save this" Dwayne tried,hurriedly tapping his phone.

"What are you doing?" Yao questioned.

"There's a kid on Ringdom named GA10" Dwayne replied.

"So?"

"Oh,Ringdom is actually an electronic reading platform for action,adventure and gaming Novels. If you need something to read,download Ringdom, you'll love it" Dwayne explained.

"Are you f*****g advertising?" Yao asked.

"Yeah,he's got a book to release here and I think its titled...Demon Blood. Ensure you check it out" he said.

Yao just stared at him,wondering what kind of person he was. At a moment,he was the serious one. Next,he was the jovial one but one thing he loved was the fact that he was a good person.

He was awoken from his thoughts by the beep of his phone's notification. He checked it and saw the message. "Come in".

"Okay Dwayne, let's go" he called Dwayne who shoved his phone into his pocket.

Yao opened the door and behold was Dr Sue who donned a white coat over her short,black gown.

Yao coughed a bit,realizing something was burnt.

"What's *coughs*. Burning?" He asked.

"Oops,my bad" Dr Sue replied and got up.

"I was kind of curious and used my flames to burn some things. Its just stupid I burned something in the office" she explained.

Dwayne stared at her,feeling something was off but again,he shrugged the thought off. He had always felt like that about people.

He blew some cool air around,neutralizing the aftermath of the smoke.

"So what brings you here?" She asked after they had all settled down.

"A lot. I'm sure you must have heard about the strange disease infecting people?" Yao asked.

"Yes,I have tried getting a test patient but they are all too violent and strong to catch" she replied.

"Yes. So,we've found out the cause for this disease"

"Tell me" the Doctor said,eager to know.

"You see...those people were infected with what we know as a parasite that turns people into mindless,violent,half-breeded Dragons. We already know the source and cure which is almost impossible because our key to the cure is infected." He explained.

"I understand you but how is he the key?" She asked,pointing at Dwayne.

"He is the Dragon's Soul. He's the only one who can destroy the source which is the cure but unfortunately, he's been infected." He whispered.

"Oh! I see" she exclaimed.

"I need you to perform a surgery on him. We'll need to take the parasite out." He explained.

"Okay,he'll be operated on but we need to first inject him with a tranquilizer." She said and opened a drawer from her desk,taking out a file.

"Your personal details,please?" She asked and took a pen.

Dwayne began to answer her questions. While that was ongoing,Yao began to wonder why she was being weird. At first,he smelt smoke and she said she was curious using her powers.

Then,the fact she had talked about tranquilizers. One of her powers was tranquilizing anyone with a touch.

The last thing he suddenly noticed was her using her right hand to write. She was a southpaw and she rarely took record of her patients first.

She believed treatment was first before any other formalities. It was then it dawned on him...This person was an imposter.

"Quit the act. Who are you" he interrupted,causing her to shut up.

She stared at him,changing her serious expression into a mischievous one.

"It took you this long to realize?" She questioned and got up.

"Well,its too late" she said and shot a ball of flames at him and Dwayne. He quickly protected himself with am ice shield while Dwayne absorbed the flames.

They both looked at the seat and saw her no more. They looked at the door and saw a figure rush out.

They hurried behind,trying to catch it. Then, they found themselves outside and before them was an army of minions.

Standing before them was the Doctor,who now took back the shape of the minion.

"Bro?" Yao called.

"Yeah,I see this." Dwayne replied.

"Its an ambush."
